And here you are again with your awe inspiring advice. And I’m pretty sure everyone here knows how it works without your input. Thanks again for showing up and saving the day

Look, I support scope. I'd rather they bring all the RJs in house and tack us on the bottom, but failing that, some contractual progression would be nice...

Just like the title of this thread says. Staple. This will happen. Then Delta absolutely can bring those 35 jets back. I forsee EDV pilots and the 900s heading to Delta. Delta will get their pilots to agree to this by a large 787 order enticing them to a wide body position 2 to 4 faster than currently available.
I do agree that Delta management probably should have communicated better with their union before the memo. I also can see that the union there, in the same bad taste, thew out an email blasting the company before they had any facts. Bad blood and egos.

I can't comment on the bad blood, but I will agree that a lot of issues could be solved if they "flowed" the Endeavor airframes over to mainline along with the pilots. Seems like a hundred and some CRJs on the Delta certificate would buy them plenty of breathing room on scope...

I always chuckle when I hear this. Cheap labor has absolutely nothing to do with why regionals and RJs exist. Look at the cost of salaries when compared to the other costs of operating an aircraft. Jet fuel alone in a CRJ-200 during 1 hour at cruise is about $900 using current prices of $1.82/gallon. They’d need to pay every crew member on the aircraft Delta A350 CA rates to even come close to surpassing that number. Now imagine if they needed to operate a 737 on that route or a similar type. Fuel cost just goes up even higher. You can’t take a 737 from MSP-CWA 3-4 times a day without losing serious money. That’s why they want so many RJs. Regionals are just a bargaining tool against the mainline carrier. “Hey name your price so that we can give more RJs to XYZ regional carrier.” Eventually that price gets high enough and more RJs are sent out.

No one at DALPA is trying to stomp on career progression for anyone at Endeavor. DALPA doesn't even have any say on who Delta hires, so they can't stop a flow up agreement. This is about the 35 76 seat RJs they are no longer allowed to use now that the flow down to Compass is gone. DAL management is now threatening to bypass negotiations and unilaterally implement a flow up and down agreement without DALPAs consent because of some inconsistent wording in our PWA (contract). I flew at Endeavor. I support a meaningful solution for Endeavor pilots. But DAL management has been acting in bad faith and has been flying more than the new max number of RJs for almost all of covid. Our MEC has had to file a formal grievance to get them to stop. This goes wayyyy beyond you guys. I'm genuinely sorry that you've been dragged into the middle of it.
Love your username BTW...😂
