Default Where's my stapler

Hearing talks of Delta issued staplers to endeavor. I'll take a swingline, but I won't be picky.

Wait. So maybe this idea is a bad idea?? But it seems so great!

In all seriousness, the rumors I have been hearing around the crew room make me nervous. Sure, the majority of us want to get to the next level but let's not try things that have been tried in the past and gone horribly wrong.

Once the 200's are retired as planned, the 900's are moved to mainline along with our pilot group. "stapling" us to their list

Nothing is impossible but I think it’s unlikely that Delta would turn off the spigot of military and other OTS hires for a few years to staple a regional. It’s not like they don’t have enough people applying.

Does Delta own the 900’s, and if so, is there any contractual obligation to add those currently flying them for another company to the Delta seniority list if Delta decided to move those planes to their side? If Delta does own them, what is the advantage of stapling people with longevity to the list as opposed to simply hiring off of the street to fill those slots with new hires?

I think you still need training, since it a new Operating Certificate.
You can't use your CL65 and go between regionals without training...

If Delta added the 900 to their fleet, they would have to have a training program. Pilots currently flying the 900 would have to go through the program just like a new hire. Off the street pilots with the experience that Delta hires would be just as capable of getting through the program without issues as current 900 pilots. Don’t see the cost savings of a stapler vs hiring for new positions.
