Actually, a major seniority number mostly seems to translate to long-term job security. If you get furloughed, you'll come back some day. Worst case, failing majors tend to get merged. This century anyway.
Case in point, covid:
Regionals: 1000+ jobs gone
Majors: 1,000's of pilots on paid vacation w/ bennies.

This may very well be true. The fact is, Delta will NEVER staple Endeavor or any other regional. Their ego is far too big to ever allow that to happen. Note all the pilots we have working here that have had the double no. You think Delta will allow those guys on property? That would be like BLM hosting a Klan rally. Anyone that seriously believes that staple is a possibility should consider talking about their mental health with their AME. You probably aren't stable enough to fly an airliner.
The May schedule show how far behind the hiring curve we already are. There's no way we can handle training 400 pilots by the end of the year with the shrunken training department that we have. Anyone that doesn't want to make Endeavor a career needs to seriously consider the LCCs. Get out while you can, and on the front side of a wave.

Most (30?) of the double no folks would not move to big D if it was handed to them on a silver platter now. A combination of bitterness and not enough career left to justify being junior, on reserve, and commuting to NYC.

It's a question of money, if you flow people up, Delta can still get rid of them on probation(they've done it many times), but it is a very costly process. The least expensive option is to keep us here, and hire the people they want off the street.
