If your pilot group gets any type of flow it’s beneficial for you the pilot’s and not Delta one bit. What will happen is the likes of UA and solid LCC’s like SWA will try to pick off 9E pilots. Anyone with a solid resume will leave before the flow and DL gets stuck with the “misfits” who couldn’t get a job better than 9E.

Misfits often have a hard time making it through training or probation. Any number of stories. Anecdotally, the RJ people I know getting calls at LCCs right now are the one with no degree, checkride busts, etc. Less likely to leave to a legacy when hiring is in swing.

Uh DL is big on owning up to failure and showing how you can learn from it (Yes, I know that statement does not apply to DL management, only all other employees). I was an off the street hire at Delta from 9E in 2019 with a sub 3.0 GPA and multiple checkride failures. I never lied about anything, showed all my flaws but also showed all my strengths and still made it here. Let's also be real, if Delta doesn't want someone here, they won't be here. There is still gonna a probation period and I bet if a flow even happens 9E folks will be under a microscope their first year.
