Default Flow Questions

Because this flow is much like the Compass flow (same, whatever). Will you 9E pilots keep your longevity, vacation and sick banks? While this question might sound odd, you are giving up your seniority and pay rates to come to Delta. For a lot of the 9E senior guys, coming to Delta will be a huge hourly paycut, but to lose vacation, sick, 401k match (contribution too) is huge. Surely your MEC has considered this and negotiated some kind of buyout?

Anytime you leave for another employer you would loose all that so what is the difference?

I suppose it would suck if you are a lifer by choice and don’t want to leave and are being forced to go to Delta. But as long as you have more than 2-3 years remaining in your career the pay cut is only temporary

That sounds like an opinion. What's the answer? Are you saying pilots can opt out of the flow?

Also, every 9E captain must begin at Delta as an FO.
Junior base is New York. Talk about a kick in the balls. What's in it for a senior 9E captain?

How would someone lose their 401k? Delta's 401k contribution is much more than 9E's match. Yes, a flow would lose longevity, seniority, and vacation, and the first year pay would be a cut. 2nd year pay is more than 9E's most senior captain makes. It's obvious that a jump to Delta doesn't make sense for a certain percentage of the pilot group, but for most, it is a huge benefit.

Yes, you don't have to take the flow.

Okay, then how will that work? How will you guys notify Delta on who wants to come and who does not?

I know you keep your 401k, but what I'm getting at here is your total compensation (and this includes your ability to bid the line you want, the overnights you want etc.)
You can't just look at pay rates. It may, for some guys, take 4 to 5 years to be made whole.

Yeah, for those guys, they will probably stick around. They don't have to flow.

Just like they would anywhere else?! If they do not want to start over again, they do not have to leave. Holy **** man the entitlement is amazing.
