I looked at the NYC bid pack and the vast majority of 4 days are commutable on at least one end. The ones that aren’t are mostly very high credit trips that senior people living in base will bid for.

and that’s the problem. When you get 4, 4-day trips, and they are only commutable on one end, you lose 4 days of your (probably) 12-13 days off. It never used to be like this. I had commutable trips from the first month I had a line (pre-Covid) up until 4 months ago. These trips now days suck.

If you have 4 4 days you already have 14-15 days off, not 12-13. It has always been like this. 4 day trips have had either an early start or a late finish. During COVID commutability did increase because most of the early departure banks in the hubs were eliminated, however trips were less efficient as a whole.
If you want commutability, bid for 5 day trips.

This is accurate. Just looking at a bid pack from 2019 you would have a ton of one end commutable trips (for most commuters). 5-6 am report 7pm end or 10-11 am report with 9-10pm end. High credit 4 days might be the same but also might be uncommutable on both ends. 4 days used to be higher in credit as well which I think the reason we don't have pairings with credit that high is that they sent a decent amount of those legs out to other bases so we could staff it right now.

You can’t now. I assume he had them downloaded. If you want a real shock someone should show you some pre 2018 NYC bid packs before the codomicile. Back when we had an abundance of high credit 3-4 days, a better trip mix overall including 1-2 days, CDOs, and P3 reserve.
