A staple can't be done at the moment due to the staffing levels at Delta. At Delta, adding pilots requires an AE, which would cause a training meltdown. There are 1000+ open positions at Delta, which every Endeavor pilot added would be entitled to immediately.

That, and it’s still cheaper to outsource flying to a third party even if it’s a shrinking commuter.

Yes but once again Endeavor is not an outsource . Delta owns the certificate , the planes , the employees , they assign the MGT team to run it and they pay us . On the NY stock exchange it says Delta/ EDV. Republic , Skywest and all other international carriers that Delta pays for services and that are separate companies is called outsourcing. Some years ago Delta created a certificate to operate an airline called SONG . It was an airline within an airline. They pilfered aircraft already on the Delta certificate and pilots , FA’ s , mechanics, gate agents, etc. to be part of song , for less pay of course . That wasn’t an outsource . It Is the same as Endeavor . SONG eventually was done away with and everything was just folded back onto the Delta certificate.

The aircraft are operated by non-Delta employees, it’s an outsource. Edv is no different from skywest except the owner. It is outsourced flying just as much as Air France. If the flying was not outsourced, the aircraft would be on Delta certs and not say “operated by Endeavor Air”.

EDV is not any part of DAL on the NYSE…

In the last 5 years multiple things have happened that everyone said , “Ahh Delta would just never do that” . 500 million dollars later ( along with a flow through ) proves otherwise . They will do what is necessary to keep the operation going with Delta and Endeavor to be able to keep the squeeze on American and United, even if it means seniority numbers .. Granted if the banks and economy holds together .

Delta can own and run multiple certificates at once . The pilots on EDV seniority list are owned and operated by Delta the same as the pilots on the Delta seniority list, we just have two separate contracts. Delta doesn’t own and operate all other carriers . EDV is not an outsource. The Delta pilots , FA’s , etc. that were flying Delta aircraft with “Song” painted on a “ Delta” 757 and was on a separate certificate owned by Delta were not outsourced. Same situation as endeavor. I believe “Song” pilots had a different contract as well.

Whatever helps you sleep at night. Let me know when Endeavor starts selling their own tickets.

In the case of Song, those guys were DL employees. What EDV pilots work for Delta?

it’s not a wish . It’s just a fact . They will do what is necessary to keep the cog wheel of revenue coming in . I mean they have given 60 percent pay raises to Endeavor and are still going to make 2 Billion this year . So the old adage for 35 years that they couldn’t make money by paying the “regional” more was all a smoke screen and shell game. We shall see I guess .

That’s the point . Endeavor doesn’t sell tickets . It all comes from Delta . We all work for Delta . Where do you think our paychecks come from ? Endeavor does not make money . It’s just a name . We just have separate contracts . Just like “Song” didn’t sell tickets . You can’t outsource to something that you own . Now you can obviously “shift” things around to different assets within your company , but that’s not outsourcing. They have spent 500 million on trying to take care of the pilots on EDV seniority list cause they own it and feel the importance and need to do it. They haven’t spent one dime on solving Skywest or Republic staffing cause those are separate and outsourced companies that have to spend their own money .
