This. Delta didn’t change its hiring practice just to,screw over flows from 9E. They don’t care that much.

There will be a pretty good exodus of Captains from Endeavor to United , American and Southwest over the next 6 plus months so you know Delta is trying to sandbag as many people on the flow to keep as many captains at 9E for as long as possible so they don’t have to up the ante on higher retention money or seniority numbers . There is definitely ulterior motive. They definitely care .

Are these cadet programs not quite $$ for their 0-hero schemes?

Are there financial benefits for these airlines for enrollment?

and luckily for Delta and Endeavor, there is a massive over supply of CFIs with well over ATP mins right now. They'll all be quickly replaced.

United recently dropped their hiring projections for 2026 as well. Still very number but no longer 2000+. Ballpark 1500 now. Airbus can't deliver now and that was a big chunk of 2026 growth with the planned XLRs coming online. On top of Boeings continued woes too. Won't be shocking if AA and SW temper their plans too.
