Did you want to an airline pilot when you were younger? What was the standard uniform worn back then when you looked up to pilots as a kid? Who gives a crap if you have to wear a hat, enjoy your North Face.

I assume you were never in the military.

Except the military generally doesn't wear covers indoors, which is where passengers will most likely encounter crew members. I never liked wearing the hat indoors and will gladly exercise my option not to until the rule (or my employer) changes.

Nope... Good deflection though. I am myself, just know you from Airlink.

Yeah right. Joined May with 60+ posts already, while conveniently MunkyButtr hasn't posted since Apr 23. No one comes out that fast, that aggressive that quickly.

Yep...I never understood how the airline industry, which is so intertwined with the military, makes indoor hat wear a requirement.

I've also never liked that in the military was *mandatory* to wear a cover when stepping even one foot outdoors...just another thing to forget and occupy an open hand. For parades, ceremonies, dress uniforms, etc. I 'get', just not for the "utilities."

Sigh, I'm just a worker bee, I don't make the rules and the military doesn't care how I feel! :)

Remember in El Paso when the mechanics hat blew off his head next to a running jet engine, and he went after it?

Thats why hats are not practical in this industry.

Man, MA, you never cease to amaze. Only reason I'm here is because a little birdie told me you gave a shout out. I am no longer part of the 121 world and unlike you I have left Pinnacle in the rear view. I wish all those guys the best, but to be honest with you I could care less about Pinnacle. I recommend you do the same. I just added 10 years to my life by not giving a rat's anymore. It's wonderful! I bid you farewell, sir.

Al Czervik 06-09-2013 09:21 AM

MunkyButtr- congrats! Hope to put this place in my rear view window as well. Cheers for doing it classy. Unlike.....

What airline requires you to wear one on a walkaround?

Hint: none.

Try again. They look far more professional than the pullovers and wannabe southwest leather jackets.

You're barking up the wrong tree, Shy. They are posting thousands of miles away from each other.

I figured. I know who MunkyButtr is, just not MrMustache. But no matter. It usually takes a coward to hide behind a screenname and call out other people from the convenience of their anonymity. And 60+ posts in one month is an aggressive guy, even by my standards of posting.

Man, MA, it's always someone else's fault. Number one, a name change doesn't change the fact that the airline has killed passengers in the past - and oh by the way in 1991 it was doing the same operation as it is doing today - flying feeder work for a major. Potentially the only difference being 135 carrier vs 121. Don't know for sure though. Fact is, you went to an airline with an accident history. You are lucky they weren't shut down, otherwise you wouldn't have had a JetU to go to to learn new hire ground school at a slower rate.

And what's this about "protecting pilots"? And not ratting them out? I'm pretty sure you used to brag on airlink about being allowed to do certain things when you were an FO, that most of the rest of us would just look at our FOM and think, well, says I can't do it. I'm totally the pot here, but you are no angel when it comes to doing things that might have needed ALPA protection.

You really like using initials don't you, Mr. RB? You know, Mr. Tyrannosaurus - _____, if you are willing to publicly trash someone with false accusations of FOM violations, you should at least have the courtesy of putting your name to the post. I extend you the same courtesy you offered me. Looking forward to your posts now that I know who you are and your attacks are no longer anonymous.

Ohhhhhhhh crap... Dude why are you resurrecting a 4+ month old thread to continue a ****ing match with someone?

Oh darn buddy. Ya got me.

You have been trying forever to figure that out I bet.

Don't even know why you worried. ALPA killed the board so anything is gone and now just hearsay and conjecture. Don't get so riled up. Especially since you made so many friends at 9E.

At least I didn't talk to your CP or anything lame like that.

ok it's time for a thread in the mainline section entitled "tool of the decade" because anyone who spends 4 months researching someone then revives a 4 month old thread to call him out definitely wins that one hands down.....

So true! It's like Shy realized/recognized how much of a problem he had so he went to rehab. He did well for a while there but has relapsed. He's baaack.
