We can't even staff what we have right now.
Fred Buttrell said he wanted Comair to be a 200+ plane airline. The thing is though. The CEO of the wholly owned doesn't really make decisions on fleet, that comes from the mothership. He can say what he wants, but Delta will tell him what he gets.

Typical Delta arrogance... What makes you think everyone wants to work at Delta... At this point there are more at Endeavor that would prefer to work anywhere EXCEPT Endeavor and Delta. I'd bet an anonymous polling of Endeavor pilots would find less than 5% willing to pass up anything else calling on a "hope" of Delta hiring them.... Some will be lifers here, most will be glad to leave for American, Alaska, Allegiant, Spirit, United, Virgin, any other place that doesn't pay food stamp wages....Long before waiting on that "coin flip" from Delta.

Are many of them interested in going overseas, or working for foreign airlines???

Pinnacolaba WAS about 265 airplanes give or take a few depending on dates/sources... Now we are down to about 150 ish.... with about 10 more 900's to come and about 50 more 200's to be parked... so can someone explain how that equates to 2 year upgrades?????
It sure seems more like a path to Comair revisited.

Maybe it's just me, but there seems to be a subtle shift in that comparison: he's comparing a cumulative total to a daily total. Like "since I started saving money, my account has increased to 224 dollars, before I only saved 3.50 per day." Without knowing how many apps were "currently in processing and screening" before EtD, it doesn't provide much perspective at all.

Yeah I see what you are saying, but it has been about nine days since the EtD announcement right? So for simple math, let's say ten days and divide that into 224 and we get about 24 apps a day.

Well, if you haven't applied...you better hurry...seniority is everything! Plus
I need some numbers behind me.

"With the implementation of the EtD Commitment we have seen our applications increase to 224 total apps currently in processing and screening. To put things in perspective, prior to implementation of EtD we have averaged 3.5 apps per day."
Ive got an app in, but I also work at 9e already. Do you know how easy it is to have an app at Endeavor? Just click one button on airline apps.com-that's it. I wouldn't put too much stock on those "apps" Im sure many people clicked that button when they heard "flow" but have since then learned what this dangling carrot is all about and won't be interviewing. I remember when Berry Wilber spouted off the application numbers as soon as the hiring window opened in December "We have plenty of applications and will not have an trouble hiring" Lets see how many interview and better yet, how many show up to class.

I would also advise those that will take a class date and then reject it, or those who fail to show to class. Im willing to bet if you do that, you will probably end up on Delta's "no hire" list later. So don't risk it coming here if you aren't sure you are gonna stick it out for 5-7 years until you actually have a chance at a Delta class date through EtD.

Is it safe to assume(I know about assuming) that you did not make it through?

Fwiw, most of the talk I hear around campus is that the Delta pilots don't like this program either. Lots of friends from other airlines, the military, etc having to fight for limited OTS slots because of this.

I just returned from a week of training, and some of the comments from upper mgmt. about the flows/ssps is interesting. To be fair, some interesting comments about a newhire from the military too. All in all positive comments, but there has been some training issues and some attitude issues.

Maybe you will get your wish, and the ssp will get terminated.

Don't read anything into the post then what it is, just humor. (At least I thought.) If I was younger maybe I would try the SSP but I choose not to spend my remaining years at the bottom. To be fair maybe there would not be attitude issues if DAL was fair and did not misuse bankruptcy laws to cheat employees and really act with honesty and integrity as they like to advertise. My beef is not so much with any pilot but with managements treatment of its employees. Hopefully we can find more common ground to fight the good fight rather then against fellow pilots.

Sincere congratulations to you getting hired on and good luck with your career ahead!
