CEO already said they want 149 planes here and stated such in a base visit. I know its probably just kool aide, but if we get enough new hires, and as cheap as we are, I see it happening. Still though, the last public fleet plan is 81 planes so for now you are correct. I don't think the EtD will be enough for us to staff 149 planes, but we'll see. We can't even staff what we have right now.

With all the flows and SSP taking up quite a big chunk of new hires at delta...off the street hire into delta will become even more difficult than it is even now...until the doors really open wide...so I would argue against you on that one...people will apply here and we all need to make the best of it...for some this EtD will be a good thing, for others they will just B and moan about it!

most will be glad to leave for American, Alaska, Allegiant, Spirit, United, Virgin, any other place that doesn't pay food stamp wages

It sure seems more like a path to Comair revisited.

Maybe it's just me, but there seems to be a subtle shift in that comparison: he's comparing a cumulative total to a daily total. Like "since I started saving money, my account has increased to 224 dollars, before I only saved 3.50 per day." Without knowing how many apps were "currently in processing and screening" before EtD, it doesn't provide much perspective at all.

Pilot shortage solved...Signal to Delta...no need to raise pay rates. It's like playing poker in Vegas, the house always wins. I'm just beat up...
Well, if you haven't applied...you better hurry...seniority is everything! Plus
I need some numbers behind me.
"With the implementation of the EtD Commitment we have seen our applications increase to 224 total apps currently in processing and screening. To put things in perspective, prior to implementation of EtD we have averaged 3.5 apps per day."

I would also advise those that will take a class date and then reject it, or those who fail to show to class. Im willing to bet if you do that, you will probably end up on Delta's "no hire" list later. So don't risk it coming here if you aren't sure you are gonna stick it out for 5-7 years until you actually have a chance at a Delta class date through EtD.

Is it safe to assume(I know about assuming) that you did not make it through?
Fwiw, most of the talk I hear around campus is that the Delta pilots don't like this program either. Lots of friends from other airlines, the military, etc having to fight for limited OTS slots because of this.
I just returned from a week of training, and some of the comments from upper mgmt. about the flows/ssps is interesting. To be fair, some interesting comments about a newhire from the military too. All in all positive comments, but there has been some training issues and some attitude issues.
Maybe you will get your wish, and the ssp will get terminated.
