In March when the list of names were sent to DL, it did go fairly junior. There were very few Captains names sent, roughly 7 CA retry names and 9 first interview CA names, and around 50 FO names. The union put out an email beginning - mid March as a "warning shot" to the pilots that the March list did go very junior, which it did, the most junior pilot in March was about 200 from the bottom of the aprox 1500 pilot seniority list. After the Union email, the participation on the captain side and FO side dramatically increased. The list sent to April saw almost 45 CA names and 30 FO names, whereas the most junior pilot sent in April was between 990-1010 on the 15-02 published seniority list. No idea how the list will turn out in May, but as someone already said, every CA has had an opportunity and any CA that expressed interest was on the April list, so any CA on the May list will have signed up for the SSP after the April list was sent on April 6. If the SSP remains in its current state and the language is not renegotiated to include new hires then I would guess the SSP will be exhausted in late summer early fall.

It sounds like you had a mechanic come and therefor it probably was geared toward finding mechanics. If it were a pilot job fair, someone would have been sent that is a pilot and would have been wearing a pilot uniform. Possibly even fly in a CRJ-200 to look at. Go ahead and put in an application if you are interested. We aren't Spirit or Frontier. We offer interviews without attending a million job fairs first.

It was zero because they sent 80 names this month. This was pre-planned!

Any news regarding upgrades?

I left Endeavor back in October and am curious how the SSP is working out for FO's. How many CJOs for first officers so far?

Just looked at a FOU on my computer. 8 out of 9 FOs got it, with the last getting another shot in 6 months.

Anyone know the 200/900 class breakdown for most recent (middle of April) class? Also, did everyone show up? How big was the class?
|
19 pure new hires and 4-6 return to work.
9 - in the 200 10 - in the 900 No MSP 900 assignments, but the rest are spread pretty evenly among the rest of the bases. The 200 assignments were 2/3rds MSP and the rest in DTW. |

Being an all 900 operator is a good thing in the eyes of airline management. 9E will be sold off to the highest bidder when Delta is done with them. They won't have to pay out the whole $80k bonus because it was never in the cards to do that. It is a ploy and it's bringing in suckers.
Mark my word, 9E will be sold off when it benefits Delta and you won't get your whole bonus or anything associated with the SSP. |

Anyone know when those FOs who got the CJO at DAL will actually set foot on DAL property?

Key word likely. Total this year 144, next year I believe around 180, and then over 200 after that. The first FO goes when there are no more captains left with cjo's. There is no way to know when the FOs go until the ssp ends.
2015 - 144 (of which 24 endeavor pilots can be off the street) 2016 & 2017 - 180 (no Endeavor off the street hires can count toward this quota) 2018 - 240 (again 0 endeavor off the streets can count toward the quota) I believe the program will be over by 2017, as there is not a huge amount of participation. Any captain that has wanted to Interview has had a chance. Captains interviewing in May, are either second attempts or have bypassed in the past and decided to go ahead an throw their name in the hat. You are also correct in the fact that it is impossible to know when the first FO will go to Delta, if there is a huge influx of Captain participation, then that will continue to push FOs further and further down. |

9E will NOT be sold to any high bidder. The regional industry is in decline and will disappear within the next 5-8 years all together. What foolish investor would purchase an industry that is bound to get smaller and smaller as the years go by??? There is absolutely no value in these companies anymore. Whatever value there is is diminishing day by day. Bad investment!!!! Investors aren't stupid..

Morning of the interview, catch the 7AM shuttle to HQ, you get there at about 715AM, a company representative comes down and gets everyone at 730AM. If you take the 7AM shuttle you get there in plenty of time. There were 4 others that were waiting in the hotel lobby as well, good time to chat and get to know them while waiting for the shuttle. Once the company rep comes and gets you, you go into a conference room and wait for a Line Captain to come do a 45 min - 1 hour presentation on the company. This is going to be one of the interviewers as well. It is a fairly informal presentation, feel free to ask questions (encouraged). After that you get taken to a holding area and they start off the interviews two at a time based on your departure flight time. Interview itself is heavy on HR. You start off telling them about yourself (open ended question, so you can take that in any direction you want). It is more of a get to know you, and to help put you at ease. Then you move into TMAAT and WWYD type questions. Entire interview took about 45 minutes. It was 4-6 TMAAT questions and about 5 technical questions. I would focus heavily on incorporating customer service into all your responses. The technical questions were very very basic, if you are a current pilot this part will go fast. I think we spent maybe 15 minutes tops on it. Types of questions included: Tell us about a current powerplant that you fly, What are the speed restrictions in Class D, What are flaps and what are they used for. Then they pull out a binder and ask you to turn to a random section. They have you do a full approach briefing (you can use JEPP or NOS). Then they asked if I was approaching from a specific fix and I had to hold at a different one, how would I enter the hold, when could I start descending, and how would I determine when the MAP was. Finally they had me read a METAR, and ask me if I needed an alternate (simple 1,2,3 rule is all they are looking for). Then I read a TAF and was asked if I could use this airport as the alternate. You are then taken back to the holding area while they go over their notes, you wait for 10-15 and after that they come back, take you back into the room you interviewed and give you the verdict on the spot. If you accept it, they have you go into a different room to fill out the paper work. After paperwork is done, you are sent off to the drug test facility (paid for cab), when drug test is done, you call the cab back and they take you to the airport. Whole process is very professional and they do a great job of putting you at ease. I recommend using the Everything Explained to brush up on the technical part and practicing TMAAT questions with a friend. Good luck! |
Nice to hear about your experience, Micaoct. Thorough and honest, thanks for sharing. Did you accept the CJO and when do you start? I've heard good things about the process at 9E. Good luck!
