This time it does say either Friday or Saturday in the notice, but I was under the impression that no one in Crew Planning wanted to work on a Saturday.

As my wife says, wish in one hand, 'poop' (edited) in the other and see what fills up first....

They are adding 70 captains (all in ATL) I can guarantee that IF any of those come from MSP captains they won't be replaced, IF they come from NY captains they will be replaced, and DTW is likely they will be replaced but I can't guarantee that. As far as FO backfilling, who knows as it will likely be tied to balancing the captain staffing. Overall system wide, yes we are adding captains... just not in the traditional places this company came from... The new reality of this company is New York or Atlanta... A new hire shouldn't even consider MSP or DTW as a possibility at this point.

17-03 Rev1 has DTW9CA going to someone with approximately 24 months at company.

Will HQ move to ATL in 2018 or 2019?

No it won't. Also Dtw and Msp not impossible for new hires..... You forgot a lot of us senior FO's in dtw and Msp are starting to bite the upgrade bait.

The senior FOs in MSP and DTW could have upgraded years ago, why would they now?

In DTW a new hire may be able to hold a line before they upgrade but if one wants MSP they should look into Skywest.

I've personally steered 3 people to Skywest in the last year alone and they were all MSP within 2 months of hitting the line.

Telling potential new hires that MSP is attainable is just a lie. There are hundreds of pilots here already that want MSP. On top of that, it's shrinking.

Remember that person was an alternate, the most junior awarded was actually a 2011 hire. Either way bid for what you want because you never know!

If Msp is going to shrink then senior FO's will definitely upgrade and commute as they know Msp CA slot is next to impossible. That will open Msp FO seats
