Is it just me or have the class graduation pictures posted on FB been well below the 30 that the company is touting? Is the company still getting 60 a month like they say?

MSP is shrinking due to the 200 base closing. Most of those pilots (CA/FO) will probably just wait to be displaced and then push out the junior 900 guys. Then those 900 pilots that are displaced will probably push DTW 900 toward even more senior.

Hopefully DTW and MSP get a few more 900s each. All of this can be avoided.

As far as FO backfilling, who knows as it will likely be tied to balancing the captain staffing. Overall system wide, yes we are adding captains... just not in the traditional places this company came from... The new reality of this company is New York or Atlanta... A new hire shouldn't even consider MSP or DTW as a possibility at this point.

Not true for DTW, both CA and FO awards happening in DTW.

I heard one class was intentionally smaller due to some Summer reason (whatever it was ). Otherwise, is still in the 30-ish per class, 60-ish per month range.

Easy there tiger. Just making an observation. The last 2 new hire class photos posted on FB (1 Sep and 18 Aug) show 17 and 20 respectively. I'm no mathematician but that appears to be significantly lower than the 30 per class that has been the norm. 43% and 33% lower to be exact...except for the rounding of course.

I'm just curious if this has been a trend recently or if there is a reason for it (training backlog, pilot shortage, herpes outbreak, etc.)

This sounds right. Hiring in general has been great across the board. Love seeing those new hire class photos for all departments. What was the last one - 80 something? Keep it up, Recruiting Teams!

I kind of doubt it. They spent a lot of money making the C Tower happen, we have a lot, pretty much all support staff in MSP. We would have to to rehire tons of dispatchers, crew schedulers, HR employees... you get the idea. Moving corporate HQ to ATL would be spending money solely for the sake of spending money.
