I remember this happening last year, but don't remember the outcome. Best thing to do is email or call ALPA and have them look into it for you.

It was a “freebie.” So now many of us in this last bid, bid 200 positions in the base we wanted. Now we see in this award that none of us got the 200 awards we bid for and that they went junior to us from people that got the 200 in the classes behind us. Is this correct? I know the contract has changed since we started, and all I can find in the new contract is 18 month lock for new hires. So are we basically screwed getting to the base we want until we can hold it on the 900? Didn’t know since when we started we were on the old contract. Figured no seat locks. This makes the new hire class award a VERY big deal for all those ASA/XJET guys coming over. Thanks.

From what I understood is people were told you could switch equipment on 17-05 before the new contract went into effect, but after Jan 1st anyone who has not been here for 18 months could not switch. You can upgrade to different equipment or switch bases, but I believe that’s it. So yes, you will have to wait till you can hold 900 ATL FO to move or upgrade when you can hold ATL.

Then tell them to stay away i guess. We have 200s here, they'll be flown by junior pilots for the most part. They might go away someday, they might not.

If they want street captains they have to release all seatlocks. If the company releases any seatlock for this award (not out yet), all seat locks will be released.

I dont know why you thought you'd come here and get whatever type you wanted but we have 200s and the junior pilots will likely fly them. If the 900 is that important to you, it's probably important to the pilots senior to you.

Seriously though, Mesa has an ATL base and no 200s. If you leave and no one comes in we'll get more money or some sort of flow.

Are you off of OE? That’s why no one moved. You gotta be done with training before you move planes or bases. The people in the class behind you got what was left that was open to new hires.

You totally missed his point. Atlanta is important to him and he is seatlocked on the 900 and can’t be awarded 200FO in ATL

Also doesn’t matter. He is still seat locked for 18 months unless he upgrades. Everyone that has been here less than 18 months regardless of if they started before or after the new contract has a seat lock.

Fine. Erase every mention of 900 and replace with ATL and erase 200 and replace with NY. Shocker, you cant get the domicile you want as a new hire. I hope he says that around the MSP pilots losing their base.

In short, he's complaining about the seniority process and doesn't understand he can be released from any and all seat locks as soon as the company elects to. Which won't be long.

Coming on the web board and warning us the xpressjet guys "won't like this" and his tone was my annoyance.

Until they release seat locks. Which they must to fill the vacancies.

I’m just talking about FOs, I can see them continuing to unlock for captain positions, but FO positions can just go to new hires. Less training events if they keep FOs in the seatlocks which is the point of it. Cheaper.

You can awarded a different base on the airplane you were given in initial, prior to completion of OE. To switch airplanes, you have to be done with OE.
