Why is your pay credit lower than your block?

HighFlight 02-07-2018 09:23 AM

It’s usually scheduled that way. Credit goes up if block is actually flown.

If you ain't from around these parts, we are paid SAT or greater. Delta can put as much padding as they want without changing our guarantee unless it is a brand new route for us.

WesternSkies 02-07-2018 09:46 AM

SAT?
I don't follow.
Is this like what SkyW has or what are the differences?

HighFlight 02-07-2018 10:23 AM

Scheduled Average Times

Based on years of flying the routes, the company knows roughly what each leg averages. That is how credit is “scheduled”. Once it is flown, a pilot gets SAT or block or 4 hours min day, whichever is higher.

Thanks, I mistakenly thought (SkYW) was the only one to do credit-or-better.

Not sure how OO does it but our SAT times are published and can't just be changed on a whim. I rarely notice a major difference between credit and block. Usually NYC winter has a little padding but if you hit the block you'll make good money. I'm never crediting less than I block
