For quickest movement to Msp, bid the -200. You can put your choices as Msp -900, then Msp-200, then Dtw-200, and however else you wanna do it.

Does the base choice come first, then plane, or are they bid on in class at the same time?

200s are only DTW and MSP currently. So best odds there. I've heard MSP on the 900 is fairly senior.

I was wondering what the (current) reserve times are for DTW 200 & 900 or the LGA 900. I will be commuting through (yes 2 legs) ATL so my hope is to get a line sooner than later. I am also concerned that the lines out of LGA may be more base overnights (which would not be good as a commuter). Any input would be much appreciated, particularly on the latter concern.

You put the 6 options in order of your preference.

More folks seem to want the -900. Sure, it's a nice plane, but seniority matters for both QOL and pay. A line on the -200 as an FO will blow the doors off any -900 on reserve. It's less than a dollar difference, which should become 1 rate eventually (sooner rather than later). Between breaking guarantee and Perdiem, and a few hotels vs a Crashpad will add up to a positive.
The -200 movement is faster than the -900 as the -200 is a growing fleet at the moment. DO NOT make a choice based on airframe. Anyone that wants the -900, will get to fly it once hired. Unless the NYC bases are your desire for QOL, the -200 will get you the most movement (positive) in Dtw and Msp. A line vs reserve is night and day. Movement is happening overall, but the sooner you hold a line, the more money and better QOL. That's the end result. |
Appreciate the input. I agree completely regarding airframe my primary concern is the commute. I believe LGA or DTW will work best for me and thus my questions. I could've left off the 900 out of DTW, but was thinking if it flew more overnights out of base than the 200 it might be a better option. I'm very new to the bidding and lines so I'm just trying to learn more before I have to make a (somewhat blind) decision at the start of class.
