Pray we don't hire street CAs.

We lived under that at Colgan and it hurts morale.

I do not see how this is avoidable in some capacity. At best they'll reduce upgrade mins to 1000 SIC 121 vs. 1000 with company and that will fill a few more slots. I don't think it'll be enough. We could turn out to have what PSA did for awhile...poaching other carriers for folks that have the 1000 SIC and pretty much once they finish FO IOE they'll go right to Captain school. Not quite street hires but more or less. As longer longevity FOs get their time though and finally upgrade they'll trump those guys in seniority and the streetish captains stay on reserve a LONG time. It will be very interesting to say the least.

I'm sitting in the low 1400's concerned about having my time, I'll have the 1,000 121 but not 2500 total. Count me out of swinging gear for a street captain. Hopefully they change the requirement to 1,000 company time and that's it. I've fired off some emails and they said it has been "a topic of discussion"

Count you out for swinging gear for a street captain... That's funny what are you going to do refuse to fly. Grow up.

I guess it's hard to understand sarcasm on a forum. I don't care if you're a street captain or not. I was making a reference to the person saying we will hire street captains. Carry onwards, appreciate the name calling

Valid clarification statement, D bag remark rescinded. My apologies, yes it is indeed to understand tone with no inflection. Sorry man.

It just means I'll have a chance to do the "back in my day when I was hired..." thing. I'm not too worried, things can change between now and then.

What would come first? Street captains or getting rid of the 1,000 company policy? Is the 1,000 company policy currently waivable?
