Good topic....I think it will have a significant impact on the guys that wanted to stay for QOL and now can justify it by pay if they have 3 to 4 years left to fly. This is case-by-case basis but a good move by management. Who knows what the future holds....things are changing quickly. Comes down to having options.

I'm not sure if they're looking for ground instructors at the moment. And if they were, I've heard they don't pay those guys much. However, they are looking for sim instructors for the 145 and are paying $80,000/yr.

I more than doubled that going east a few miles to teach corporate pilots.
I hope AA pays better now.
I was told AA wanted former retired line pilots to come back as sim instructors thus such low pay, after all they were getting a retirement check.

Our sim instructors who are actual Envoy pilots (on the seniority list) are paid quite handsomely, easily six figures without even picking up any extra OT flying on the line. The company is supplementing our current sim instructors due to current high training demands by hiring additional off the street sim instructors. Those sim instructors who aren't Envoy pilots will be paid a lower salary, $80,000/yr. The ground instructors don't fly the airplane or the sim, aren't on the seniority list, and aren't ALPA. They are paid the lowest of all.
