Putting more chairs? In LGA we have 7+ a day in each seat sitting standby so I guess we have 21+ chairs total. JFK lines start in July so here's another 7 in each seat. It's almost impossible in NY as a CA and soon fo to sit rap. I can't believe the Union would be pushing for displacement language relief when Rsv is much more important.

The option to have, say the top 20% of the reserve list, which lets face it, never gets called to fly anyway, bid on open time would be a huge QOL change for those pilots and would give a light at the end of the tunnel to the newer guys.
In addition, going to some long call would be great as well. I am not saying everyone should be able to get it, but again maybe the top 15% or so should be able to hold that.

So... your argument in support of lakehouse's statement about Envoy having the worse reserve system of all the regional airlines is to compare it to the reserve system at a major airline? You know, that isn't the only thing that is better at AA. You should look at their payscales. It will blow your mind. Do other regionals get paid more to drive to the airport and jerk off for 8 hours+ I'm sure that there is a genre of porn dedicated to this kind of thing but I'm not sure how the subscription and payments system would be worked out. I'm confident though, that the various airline HR departments wouldn't be interested in assisting a pilot to set up such a service. Out side of being on airport property though, I'm not sure they really care what you do with your time. The Ready Room is pretty dark. RSV pilots are paid 75 hrs of pay per month to be a RSV pilot, airport standby is just part of the job description. Besides, as has been stated, RSV at Envoy isn't very long. I spent 8 years on RSV when I was at Envoy, you think I don't know how much Airport Standby sucks? I spent more time on reserve at Envoy than will take you to flow to AA. Cry me a river. Do New York guys have to pay tolls every time they go to and from the airport? I'm going to have to defer this question to the New York Transit Authority but I would imagine, yes, they would prefer those who use the toll road to pay the appropriate tolls. You sir are the problem. That is what my parole officer and first grade teach often told me. |

Not only does the top 20% get the bid on open time, the whole reserve pilot list can at Envoy. Its our reserve proffering system. Envoy is the only regional airline that has it, which was my point. I think Long Call, as well as many reserve improvements would be great. Long overdue actually. The Union has been working on and off with the company about it for a while now. Personally, I think the Union should refuse to negotiate or vote on anything else until the RSV system is addressed but that isn't my call and not the only thing that Mr Pool and I don't see eye to eye on when it comes to dealing with the company.
I understand that open time right now is paying 200%, so it is getting sucked up by senior FO's and Captains, but I still think it would be nice to offer the upper 20% of the reserve list that option as they rarely see flying. Not a deal breaker or anything, but would be a nice QOL. |

Thank you. Doesn't look like too bad of a schedule.

I am not sure you are correct. When I was on true reserve, I could proffer for trips that opened up for the next day during the window, but couldn't bid for open time trips that would come up. I wasn't able to do that until I held a composite line.
Oh, I see what you are talking about. Yeah, that would be a nice perk to be able to "proffer" flying while on a RAP. CS can be quite reluctant to assign it out of the reverse seniority order. I had suggested a LOA to the union some time ago to allow such a thing but no one seemed to interested in pursuing it. Such was the case with many initiatives to help improve the reserve system. |

Yeah man...I'm reinforcing what you are saying, not arguing with it. Your schedule clearly shows schedules aren't the type of disaster you typically hear online all the time.
Hence: Reality and internet message forums are two separate things. Everyone knows E-175 program has more efficient schedule at Envoy than the CRJ and 140/145 schedules. So "Reality vs Internet Msg board has been very accurate for a long time & is still accurate. E-175 has been stated by the union scheduling Rep many times to have better schedule values/braking action code than the fleet. E175 program is growing, and the future, but it's still a minority. NH are 38+yr olds... The posted schedule is NOT the best measuring stick of overall QOL life at Envoy. Just keeping it real. |
