Base Assignments Out of Schoolhouse

Hey All
Havent seen a recent thread on this one, so here goes....what have the recent base assignments looked like coming out of initial training.

Follow-up to first question, I am 45, ~500 prior 121, hoping for Dfw....possible?

As always, thanks in advance for your thoughts.

Class drops have been posted every Monday in the ‘Envoy’ thread.

They’ve been giving guys with prior 121 experience preferencial picks, I think by amount of prior experience. Up until recently, I’d have said you’d have a good shot at getting 175 DFW (145 DFW hasn’t been offered in class in a long time). However, with the opening of a 175 base in ORD I doubt we see 175 DFW offered in class for a while. You’ll probably have to pick 175 ORD or 145 ORD or 145 LGA and vacancy bid back to DFW. As to which airframe gets you back to DFW the fastest, my guess would be 145 but that’s a straight up guess.

Haven’t seen any one getting Mia. What’s the seniority shaping up to be there ?

Envoy was my first 121 job. That said, I left Envoy for Endeavor over a year and a half ago. I now have to commute for Endeavor but let me tell you, it was the best decision of my life.

Envoy's schedules are brutal and life on reserve is a special kind of living hell. If that's not enough to convince you, you are treated like a 1st grader and anything and everything you do wrong will be documented and held against you in a Step One. No mercy there.

I felt Endeavor was far superior prior even to the new TA. Now, Envoy doesn't even hold a candle to Endeavor. Face it, you are going to have to commute at Envoy for a long time. With the prior 121, you'll be forced to upgrade and will be bottom feeding reserve in LGA for likely 2 years or more. If you have to commute to NY, may as well make it worth it and come to Endeavor. DFW-LGA or DFW-EWR is not a bad commute at all. In addition to AA and DL to LGA, you also have NK which has one daily flight. I've come to rely on them most for my commute as they are the friendliest to jumpseaters. Then you've got UA/AA to EWR.

If Endeavor isn't your thing, I would look somewhere besides Envoy.

Most of the reserve list is on consolidation, so I would think that if you put in for it during class you’ll be awarded it shortly thereafter.

Hope so, people should vote with their wallets and well being.

Do they provide seniority numbers as to the most junior reserve CA, line CA, reserve FO, and line FO at each base and equipment prior to new hires having to make a selection? If not, how would one get that info?

It’s hard to tell. Junior reserve changes month to month based on bidding practices and holidays. I think NYC is about 2-3 months until being able to hold some kind of line.

Not possible. Ok maybe a slim chance.

But you bring up a good point. We should have a thread for base drops. Base drops get thrown in with the main Envoy thread so it's hard to keep track of everything.
