i think the point isn’t about emails and trophies. It’s more about an overall culture of thinking its pilots are nothing more than a nuisance.

Exactly. But the new generation has to be told that they are doing a good job every step of the way or their feelings get hurt.

I totally get the general point. That was not lost on me or on others here. The point WE are making is no one should expect an email from anyone in management congratulating one on a job well done after passing initial training. It’s unrealistic, especially from a large company.
Plenty of other metrics from which to judge whether a company values its employees much. And yes, Envoy has a poor record in that arena, no doubt about it. As for the OP’s initial post, can’t say I disagree with his assessment at all. I will say that commuting can be total hell over the long run, though. I think the OP will start to realize that little tidbit over time. |
Those pilots wanting recognition at the end of training are welcome to receive that at Envoy.
You simply need to get hired as a Flight Attendant. They do a very nice little end of course graduation ceremony :D |

Well, yea, we got the “we’re glad you’re here. We REALLY are (and I believed that)” comments from dozens of instructors and managers while in training, which was nice. Same from the Base CP’s when I met them.
Email congratulation for a Checkride passed? No. |

I'm at Delta. You can't walk through the training center without people stopping to welcome you if you remotely look like a new hire. Between line pilots and management types, it really is pretty well anyone you bump into or sees you in a hallway congratulates you personally.
Congratulation e-mail wasn't for the check-ride, but there were personal congratulations at the check-ride. I got 3 different congratulation e-mails from 3 different sources when I got off IOE, as well as a couple e-mails after INDOC. I consider that to be close enough. I can't speak for the upgrades, but my sim partner was an upgrade and the APD and FAA observer we had made a bit of a thing about a congratulation to him and the APD had a set of CA wings to present to him. |

The value of living in base is getting diminished by the forced upgrades at Envoy. The pay at Endeavor seems to out weigh living in base at Envoy. |

At first I thought he was an idiot for choosing to commute for Endeavor over Envoy. I think living in base is huge. However at Envoy he will get LGA for the first few months and only get 6-8 months as an FO in DFW before being forced back to LGA as a CA.
The value of living in base is getting diminished by the forced upgrades at Envoy. The pay at Endeavor seems to out weigh living in base at Envoy. Basically what happened is we expanded too much too quickly. The company apparently wants a large presence in LGA. According to Ric's email (take that with a grain of salt), by May LGA will have the largest 145 fleet. Problem with that is obvious...Endeavor and Republic also have LGA bases and anyone wanting LGA as a base would be crazy to choose Envoy over those two right now. That leads to the situation we have now where we have to force people into 145 LGA. |
