Default ATL to ORD/LGA TIPS (commuting, hotel, park)

Hey everyone, I am a Nov 2017 new hire with Envoy and start IOE this Friday. I am an ex 121 ATL based guy (also living in ATL) who like many decided to make a company change due to previous circumstances. It was a tough decision especially now that ill be a commuting pilot. I was awarded ORD initally but seems aparent I will be more than likely a LGA based pilot in the foreseable future. Although not my first choice, i was given good advice to embrace the change and make the best out of it.

Does anyone have any Tips to share when it comes to commuting, hotels, and parking out of Atlanta, or any TIPS in general for parking and comuter hotels in ORD or LGA?

Any tips would truly be appreciated.

The company will pay for your parking in ATL up to what they pay in your domicile. In NY it’s over $100 in Chicago much less maybe $35? The company provides four hotels per month plus if you have a four day trip and it all canceled or they take it for IOE you get hotels for those nights covered also. Outside of that your responsible some get a crashpad at $200-300 per month some save the money and use it toward hotels. In Chicago four points is about $60 out the door. In NY you can Airbnb a room for $40-60 per night hotels are going to be just over $100 the Crashpad starts to look a little better. NY reserve pilots can also get $200 stipend instead of parking reimbursement. So if your parking pass is cheap maybe can squeeze another night or two out of rooms before the Crashpad looks like a good idea.

This is untrue, at least the part about the company paying for parking. I submitted a bunch of them and was rejected on each account saying they don’t do that. If you are having success I would love to learn how because I have a year of parking fees I would like refunded to me.

Did you use the form that is available online or in the chief pilots office and fill it out and attach your receipt. Never heard of any problems

Straight from the contract

1. At domiciles where free parking is not available the Company will pay the cost of parking for pilots. For pilots who elect to park at airports other than their domicile airport, the Company will reimburse parking fees equal to the fees charged for domicile parking, subject to local airport authority and governmental limitations. The Company will not be responsible for any administrative cost or procedures which may be associated with parking at other than the domicile.

Thanks so much guys/gals. I will grab one this week and attach the full years worth. I submitted them through the expense program online as I didn’t know about the paper version the cpo.

8 years and never had a problem. You walk in, fill out the small form, and within a week or 2 it's on your hi1

Expense is for getting cabs, etc. That's whole company. Dfw is much faster at getting parking on hi1, Chicago a little slower

Most Airbuses (all?), and SWA 737s have two jumpseats.

All but 2 319s have 2 jumpseats, all other 320s and 321s have one jumpseat on Spirit, I believe.

Most have two on SWA. Maybe AT planes have one?
