I’m told 32 in the class
12 MIA spots were open, 11 filled
The rest were DFW

All 175

MIA and DFW (I do not have the breakdown beyond that. If I hear more I will edit this post.)

He’s been hateful to ever fo he ever flew with for his own enjoyment, and could care less about any line guys. Just needs to stroke his own ego to get over his own career regrets .

Spambots are getting pretty good these days. This is one of them.

It pretty much summed up all of APC in a few sentences. [emoji23]

6/13/22 drop report
16 students in Indoc
All 175
15 Dallas
1 Miami
(Unclear if ratio was offered vs requested)

6BENY 07-04-2022 08:03 AM

Was there a 6/27 class? If so, what was assigned?

I’m out of training and no longer as in the know.

I do hear there is not expected to be any more 145 new hire spots and the hiring teams are swamped (no surprise there)

pitchattitude 07-23-2022 02:14 PM

Bump

How about someone still in training try and help your fellow Envoy wannabes and get the latest class stats and post them.

Boredflyguy 07-24-2022 06:57 AM

Is Dallas going to be tough for a DEC to hold I would assume?

Yes. Last bid, early July, junior DFW 175 captain was an October 2019 hire. That will be bottom of the reserve list. ORD was Feb 2022. There were no MIA vacancies this time around, but seniority has been about the same as ORD.

TXMike 08-02-2022 12:22 PM

I chatted with a couple of current students yesterday. Once is in "Systems" week and the other a week later in "CPTs". Earlier reported 29 in his Indoc class and the latter reported 40 in his. ALL were 175, we did not get into the details of the bases.

A couple of notes:

- they are seeing more prior-121 coming in, some even at DEC level hiring. Looks like June/July were the last "no prior jet" heavy groups. (Don't give up though, the prior 121 and prior jet pool will dry up
- 175 only moving forward is assured. 145 phase out accelerating. Recruiting is touting the new-to-us (15) 170s to arrive (hopefully soon) and the remaining (3) 175s coming up from the factory by end of year.
- base bid drop... commuting sucks but there is still movement within a short period of time as well as possible base trades while still in training (with the ALPA process). This really shouldn't hold you back.

There is no perfect decision, just get somewhere and start cranking the 121 flying hours. My experience has been good so far but I'm new. There's goofy stuff all over the industry, jump on board and try to enjoy it.

Even if you don't stay long term, getting through the program and line flying will certainly help your resume.

Class CFI numbers

Anyone have any info on how many cfi’s are in the recent class. I know DEC’s are the priority rn but I’m trying to decide whether waiting for a class is worth it. I already did atp ctp since they wanted me to hurry up now I’m waiting without a timeline for a class.

Well, from the looks of it, you'll make a bit more money at Envoy than you would at some other regionals, if it's money you care about. If you chose Envoy because of base/QOL I guess you have to ask yourself if you're willing to give that up just because someone else got you in class quicker. That said, isn't just about every airline backed up somewhere between class, sims, and IOE? So even if you get into class somewhere right away, you might end up waiting anyway. The past week sounds like it's been quite rough for AAL due to the over scheduling and understaffing, so you'll most likely be quite busy once you do hit the line. If I were you and already got as far as doing the ATP-CTP course with them, I'd just enjoy my extra time off for the end of the summer.

Where is the prior 121 experience coming from? Pilots abandoning CommuteAir, Mesa, GoJet & Air Wisconson? I'm hearing classes are full?

Surprised it hasn't been mentioned yet - as of few days ago, don't expect anything other than 175 in the upcoming class drops.

What changed? The recruiter told me there hasn’t been a 145 class in months anyhow.

Company announced a fleet wide 145 displacement. Plan on being a junior FO for some time. 200+ FO’s will be coming from the 145 to the 175. Could also be their biggest reason for not touching new hires without 121 time. They’re about to having a huge training influx.

What if I was planning on being a junior captain on the 175 in ORD?

Depends on how junior you are now. They had zero 175 ORD upgrades on this new vacancy bid and they’re displacing 200+ Chicago pilots. Good luck getting an ORD CA slot over them.

OCL has a standing vacancy though, do they need to announce slots?

I’m being told the OCL standing vacancy is no more.

Just read the LOA , seems that it is true and there goes that option.

i don’t believe there are enough pilots between the displacements and upgrade qualified FOs to fill all 230 OCL slots. I think MIA may be the hardest to hold for a while

SGS233 08-26-2022 06:34 AM

Thanks!

Anyone have an idea as to which domicile(s) new hire DEC's are (now) being assigned, please?

From the sounds of things... (for the moment) not ORD nor MIA... so DFW by the process of elimination... I'm guessing?

Mr Bond 08-26-2022 11:07 AM

Latest class drops?

Latest bases? Any Miami stuff coming thru? Trying to figure out where a “high time FO” might end up. MIA is my closest base.

BigZ 08-26-2022 02:01 PM

Wait a week and a half or so on what's most junior stuff. There's a big vacancy/displacement bid that will be ran by then. Before that it's pure guesses

Bodyshopdave 08-29-2022 06:29 PM

What’s the story with the displacement bid?

They're in the process if getting rid of the 145 in a fairly quick manner. DFW 145 to close later this year. ORD 145 early next year. This displacement bid is the first step. Been talked about for a quite some time. Finally seems to be actually happening.

I'm assuming that if ORD and MIA aren't available... everyone just gets dumped into DFW?

Grabo172 09-01-2022 03:48 PM

When does that displacement bid run?

(got my no interview CJO (prior OCE) and trying to see what they’d bring me back to) 🤔

Runs on the 7th. Results should be out 9 or 10.

There’s only a handful of MCL, no OCL, everything else is DCL, so for the time being looks like DCL is the only foreseeable option. With few OCLs having been posted in the last six months or so, it went from being junior to much more senior as anyone who wants it now has to wait for an opening and have the seniority to get it. There will likely be some of the senior OCEs able to bump people off as they have the seniority to do so, and that will make it that much more senior for those who want it.

DCL is a better option for me commute wise at the moment. So that’s not bad. Whatever the junior captain base is, I’ll be there… Wish there were a way to get my seniority number back, but I’m the one that left for 1 1/2 years… so 🫤
