It must be nice to be part of a union willing to do union stuff.

Some have said that RLA makes unions a way of cheaply retaining employees who in a rational market would go elsewhere. If I could make a lateral move to another regional without stigma and without losing seniority, I'd be resigned before 5 o' clock today. Similarly, if I could withhold labor until management raised compensation (and QOL) to market rates, I'd be happy to stay. Can't do either without shooting myself in the foot as it is now.

I'm not saying that the union has to strike or ignoring the realities of RLA. However, I am not the only who is less than impressed by the union and their lack of action.

Informational picketing. They should be going to every recruiting event to give prospective candidates both sides of the picture.
And the union should do something about union members in recruiting. That is something EVERY pilot working in recruiting is doing to themselves and everyone else. No one in the union (every pilot but management!) should be doing anything to help the company put butts in new hire classes until we get a pay raise.

I hope that’s rhetorical.
Almost every pilot in recruiting is a line pilot and therefore a union member. There may be some that are out on medical. Can’t blame those if it still puts food on the table for them. But everyone that is capable of flying should be flying and not recruiting.
