See the latest flight ops tech newsletter on overspeeds.

Overspeed write ups are definitely the thing the training house is hitting hard right now. Apparently they’re getting too many unnecessary overspeed write ups. The scenario of someone writing up going slightly past 250 below 8,000’ on the 140/145 was specifically mentioned.

No, I haven’t seen it personally either but I guess someone did.

Sure I agree however I think this is more an issue of understanding when to write something up and when not to. The post I was referencing made it seem that people who wrote stuff up are also going to be reporting people for the wrong shirt. This, I am just not seeing.

I can see how someone would think that the kind of guy that writes up 251 kts below 10 is also the guy that reports people in wrong shirts. Both are BS technicalities. So, I get his point is all.

But I’ve not seen the actual ‘251 write up guy’. I haven’t see the ‘reporting people who wear the wrong shirt guy’ either. So, maybe, I just haven’t run into the wrong pilots yet.

The 251 at 9900ft for 1 second was written up a few days after the AIP situation started.
I'm sure anyone can figure out the motivation behind that writeup.

I believe the E-Learning said that if you write up an overspeed (any speed) you will be going to focus training. That being said, it also said you should not write up an overspeed unless it exceeded 10kts or 10 seconds. YMMV
