Currently i'm about a 3 hour drive from DFW (but have regional service to DFW). I have offers from ExpressJet, Skywest, Envoy, Atlas (maybe ABX and ATI with pending interviews), and Sun Country.

For now a commute is inevitable for all...but Envoy could get me closest to home during training. So really the question I have is; how long should it take to have DFW basing--hope for DFW out of training and if not go get the 73 type and fly for Sun Country for awhile?? 76 or 74 type at the ACMI's? But, Atlas' $1600/mo training pay is a joke and the other ACMI's 16/17 on 13/14 off doesn't present the best QoL...but is it better or worse than regional flying (I know many factors influence this for each of us personally though).

I have competitive numbers for the majors (4000 TT/2000 PIC military flying, clean background, and been available for the last 2 months) but just can't seem to find the phone ringing with one of them on the other end (apps only been in 2-4 months though)). I read a lot how my background shouldn't need more than a touch and go somewhere outside of the majors...or if at all, but it is what it is and it comes down to this; the last paycheck came at the end of last month with the flight hours ~5 months ago...so I need a paycheck, recency and ready to start getting some 121 experience!

TIA for ideas and opinions...open to it all.
Might be assumed, but do you have any friends at AA from your military days? Cause you fit the mold for AA. That being said, if you do, have them do a recommendation on pilot credentials. They go go a long way over here. And being that the majority of off the street hires have military back ground, it’s just a matter of time.

I’m not military, but I was a flow through from 4years ago. Recruitment sends us updates every so often. They give us hiring numbers, and mention recommendations help in the selection process quite a bit.

Prior mil here also.
4,000 TT, and 2,000 PIC military is nowhere near the bottom of the competitive range. Most fighter guys retire with far less than that and go straight to a legacy. My advice would be to avoid Atlas. Friends who are there say it’s like working for Lorenzo reborn. None of the regionals are places that you want to spend very much time. Envoy would eventually give you flow to AA, but it wouldn’t be user friendly until then. I’d go to Sun Country and get some 737 time while you attend job fairs, network, and wait for the phone to ring. The legacy airlines love military pilots and every passenger carrier that you’d want to work for has the 737 in their fleet. That kind of military time isn’t entry level, don’t seek out entry level jobs.

^Yet they still can’t make radio calls and do PA’s on guard. 😂

Default Envoy Vs Sunny

Do major airlines value more PIC 121 time or being typed in a 737. Got CJO’s from Envoy and Sunny. The pay at Envoy is hard to turn down but the opportunity to fly a 737 is hard to pass too. I’m a low time guy and looking for what would be the best to start my airline career

I live in Nebraska so it would be about an equal commute to MSP or ORD/DFW

This would be my first 121 gig. I’m currently a CFI with R-ATP mins so I’m at 1,000 hours now

Is Sun Country paying for your ATP/CTP class? Or did you already pay for it on your own. It is great for you to have these two choices. I would say a Type 737 part 121 beats out E145/E175 any day of the week.

Yeah they will pay for the ATP. Just wasn’t sure what a Major is looking for. My end goal is one of the legacies so whatever gets me there fastest is what I’ll go with
