Aircraft/base is bid in class by seniority established the first day. It is cadet program by entry to the program date, prior 121 pilots by flight time, all others by age.

What is being offered and how many, is, as many have said, a roll of the dice. Look at the “Class drop” thread to see what has been offered in class lately. But no guarantees, and there is no way of knowing ahead of time who will be in the class or what is offered. But with your stats, you will be pretty far down the list. So, I would say pretty unlikely.

There are a lot of better reasons to choose an airline. And if that is yours, there are probably better choices than Envoy.

^^this. The reason to come to Envoy is not to fly the 175, that just ends up being a nice perk if you're lucky enough to get awarded it.

it all depends on the mix. The last 3 months, it was likely, the 3 months before that, almost zero. Like others have said, a compete roll of the dice

Am coming up on one year with my current airline and am about to be off probation. Was thinking about making the switch to envoy for the Dallas base and the flow. I’m in my mid 20’s and have a degree, no checkride failures or training failures of any kind. With a little under 400 hours of 121 time it sounds like I’d be in the middle (seniority wise) of a new hire class. I know it’s typically best to avoid lateral moves but my career goal is to retire in the left seat of an A320 or 737 with the best schedule/QOL possible (never had any desire to fly WB aircraft). Any sort of guidance would be greatly appreciated, I promise you won’t hurt my feelings lol TIA!

So if you’re specifically looking for Dallas, just be aware all new hires right now are going to Chicago, both 145 and 175. Which aircraft you get depends on what they offer and your seniority in your class. Today there was a class with 19 175s and 13 145s. May take you a few months to get back to DFW, but definitely doable. There’s a lot of speculation about flow and how Long it’s gonna take, I think if you joined now you’d be looking towards the end of the decade.

if you wanna retire in a narrow body, have you considered just toughing it out currently at your regional until being picked up by Spirit or Frontier? Both solid choices, may not make as much as the majors, but the pay is still great and once you get seniority I’m sure you can get a good QOL. Not trying to steer you away from Envoy tho.

And Spirit does have a DFW base as well.

A lot depends on how long you have left in your career. But the time you lose at Envoy, you may be better staying where you are and then going to the ULLC.

Four HUNDRED hours year one? Stay where you are, apply everywhere on or before the day where you get 1000 hours TPIC.

Thanks for the advice everyone! I figured 400 hours in 12 months was a little on the low side but judging by your response I guess not? It sounds like I’m in a better spot than I had thought. Thanks again!

Again, depending on whether or not an Allegiant, Spirit or Frontier is in your thought process, you should already have an app in with them and update monthly. They are needing people just as much if not more as they lose early and mid level guys as well.

My dude, I had under 150 hours after my first year at Envoy. You’re flying a lot.
