He has previous 121 time so would be very senior in his class. Some 175 guys hit close to 1000 first year after IOE.

And when he got to 950 he would be displaced to a Jr 145 Captain on reserve.

I’m guessing that means a long time on reserve? Especially for someone trying to get back to DFW?

Yea but as more and more people flock to the 175 the more junior the 145 will become. You would be able to get to DFW in a couple of months though. It'd just be RSV for maybe 2 years.

No, no-one got displaced this time round. We'll see what happens in April. 300 numbers from the last 175 award, so there's a good chance he might just upgrade to that.

If you believe the displacements won’t be back then the company has succeeded. The company needs the captains. If they can have a few vacancies that are small, people are going to believe they have to preference and the more preferences, the less seat lock money the company pays for displacements. Probably not the next bid as they are already too late to get captains for the summer rush but they will need to have some big vacancies to get the number of captains they need.

i think dera hit his hours for upgrade and is on denial about having to fly the 145.. FO displacements will keep coming... into the 75.

They might be back, but not en masse as they did in the past. There's a bunch of 2017 and 2018 hires coming up on their hours that are wanting to upgrade.
Also, displacing to 175 will be a thing in the past. Unless they suddenly need to crew let's say 20 additional planes.

Dera can't wait to fly the 145. I heard it's fun. Didn't quite hit the upgrade. I've got a pretty good buffer of FOs junior to me who will be eligible in April, so doubt the displacements reach me. If they do, then I'll go fly the 145. No big deal.
