Apparently theres a few companies trying to compete now, check the FB pages

 

Which FB pages? I looked at the elogsite page but didn't see anything. Could you post links to those or the competing companies?

My experience with elogsite has been the same as most others. After months of e-mails I managed to get a manual update squeaked through. I also got charged when it was supposed to be free but did get a refund after those numerous e-mails.

What's annoying me however is that there are discrepancies between the total times DECS gives me and what was produced by elogsite. Several posts on this forum have mentioned there might be a way to get a breakdown of times directly from DECS. Anyone here know about this?

 

you can get a breakdown of exactly what you did from your Pay/Activity Sheets on Epays. It’s not particularly easy to read or user friendly, but all the info is there.

 

One is www.endeveran.com/crosscheckhub and the other is www.AAirlog.com

The Endeveran one looks pretty legit and it is being done by a company that has apparently worked with Cirrus Aircraft, so it could be the better if the two if they are actually dedicating a development team to do it.

AAirlog seems cool but is being done by 2 pilots who develop on the side. Not much different from e log site. What happens when these guys flow? Probably the same thing.

I’m probably gonna go with Endeveran if they can make a replacement, I’m kinda ticked of being behind on my logbook because the developer flowed

Regarding the discrepancies, every once in a while a deadhead will slip through and be treated like a flight you worked in elogsite. Using DECS monthly totals, it’s pretty easy to go back and find the erroneous flights without that much digging through your pay sheets. That said, our DECS monthly totals only go back a year so if elogsite is down for 13 month, it’s pretty much worthless as far as I’m concerned.

 

It definitely isn't. Never looked at them before (bad I know) but I've learned a lot in a short period of time. The problem is you really have to know the details if you want times to match. Most codes I know (DH, OP, CX, RM, etc) but there are some...like CL I came across recently...that I have no idea and there's nothing I can find that defines them.

I didn't know about the monthly totals in DECS. Just HI7Y. Can't seem to find a monthly totals entry in Griff's Sabre Guide...would you be able to tell me what that entry is......nevermind it's 7V/employee number....thanks!

 

Hey UncreativeUser, just thought I would address your concerns with AAirLog real quick as I am one of the creators. Contrary to what rumors are circulating, only one of us is a pilot. Both of us are former aerospace engineering grad students with an extensive background in programming. We have started a tech company for the purpose of creating digital products that serve unique purposes.

Approaching my 3 -year anniversary I have personally witnessed people's growing frustration with elogsite. While I can understand Justice's workload, I also sympathize with everyone (including myself) who has paid money up front and came out empty handed. Therefore I wanted to assure proper staffing to provide sufficient product launch as well as long term support and feel quite confident that this is the case.

Similarly to elogsite the process of obtaining your flight time is fully automatic; a few extra features such as advanced searching filtering, crew display and dashboard hopefully enhance the user experience.

The pricing structure is intentionally tailored to assure transparency and flexibility. The monthly subscription model allow you to cancel anytime and still access all of your imported flights, thereby reducing the risk of losing money ever again.

 

That’s cool and I understand that, but your methodology of obtaining the hours, at least from what I understand, is that you are going into the system and logging in on our behalf and obtaining hours that way. Is that even legal? The website looks really cool though, well done on that I must say.

Much respect that your an aerospace engineer but I don’t see how that really makes you a great software developer either. That is evident by the fact that your website got BLOCKED by AAG the day it launched, which again makes me wonder if what you’re process of obtaining hours is even legal.

Pretty sure logging in on our behalf is against the rules. If the site acted simply as an interface with a prompt that you had to enter the details of your login each time, I am fairly confident that is kosher. Much like elogsite, you are required to enter your JetNet credentials each time it pulls new data.

 

I was fairly confident too until the one guy announced that AAG blocked their access. Case and point.

That’s why e log site got kicked out too. Here’s the real solution. How about Envoy publishes our hours from CCI, I think that would solve this whole thing but I’m not holding my breath lol
