You're not giving up 125k, you're giving up the difference. I see math is not your strong suit.

I can live just fine on 125k. It’s all about QOL. If somebody told me I could start out at mainline making 300k year one, but I had to sit reserve my entire career.... I’d be perfectly fine sitting right where I’m at. Each person has a different level of tolerance for what they’re willing to put up with.

Your advice sounds better suited for a single guy fresh out of college. I on the other hand am not willing to be miserable for an extra year of a higher salary 30 years from now.

I’m not saying to not jump on the first opportunity to move on. Most of the time that’s the safer play. But in today’s scenario I would say a majority of people who have moved on in the previous year are wishing they would have waited just a little bit longer.

That's probably true, hence why he/she is at Envoy and dependent on a flow since he/she probably doesn't have a degree. #triggered

PSA. Read for comprehension

i would love for you two to tell your friends that moved on recently... “what’s the big deal? You can bar tend in the meantime. How are Susie and your kids doing btw?”

so, you want us CAs to go so you can flow faster? that's hypocritical. lol

I agree with the dude. Different strokes, different folks. No one is hiring. No one is flowing for the foreseeable future. No one is beating anyone or losing seniority to any OTS hires. The people squawking the loudest have never been thru a recession and the hot air is just a defense mechanism. Btw Jody is taking care of his old lady just fine.

Internet trolls are awesome. Go try and replace 125k during a recession. If you can, you are very lucky. The vast majority of pilots would be doing good to get half of that. A year and a half of that and you have emptied your 401k and are staring at bankruptcy. All that stress for a handful of slots at a legacy that is likely going to be arm wrestling their pilots very soon for concessions? I have no problem with the underlying thesis of "get your app out," but I would MUCH rather be here than sitting nervously at the bottom 15% in seniority at ANY airline right now. Get out early if you can, but feel good if you are sitting here with some seniority right now.

Ok, go ahead and resume the troll...

On the flip side. Anyone who left outside the flow in the previous year is looking at potential furlough. I feel extremely lucky to be senior at PSA and not on the bottom of the list somewhere else. I don’t think having a number is worth being on the street. It’s all about timing.

senior enough at psa to be responsible for the psa shenanigans.....?

besides the lifers, no one at PSA is senior enough for the “shenanigans”. I think the last batch of flows should be around August 2014 hires. The “shenanigans” happened late 2013 I believe.
