All flying returning to mainline. As it should be,

But seriously 04-29-2020 07:42 PM

Has anyone actually gotten this from the company, or is it just an Internet rumor?

as it should be? You realize this will cost jobs etc. next time you’re on a picket line don’t ask envoy pilots to help you get a pay raise. #bluefalcon

Why do Envoy pilots tell people they fly for American Airlines? Curious as I was once an rj driver and never told someone I flew for Delta.
Not trying to start anything I'm just legitimately curious as I've seen more and more people saying that.

What pilots, which people and how is this relevant to this thread?

They won't be saying that much longer.

I personally if I remember to give a PA at all ,will say American eagle flight xxxx to destination. If I'm talking to someone on the street who has no idea, I'll tell them AA because I don't want to explain the regional model. If they know a little bit about it, I'll tell em Envoy

NoValueAviator 04-30-2020 05:30 AM

I do work for American Airlines. Just under a regional contract where I have to work harder under worse conditions and get paid 1/10-1/4 as much lmao

In the rare case a real human asks who I fly for I just say "American Eagle"

Why do you give the flight number? I’ve always wondered why guys do that lol

You’re a pilot for a clothing store?

ViperCrosswind 04-30-2020 06:26 AM

I say “baby American” and if they have a confused face I then say it’s like an internship but I do the same work and get paid less and they vaguely hunt that one day I could work for the real company.

so like any other internship.

Yeah I had the same passive aggressive MO... they wanted us to say "Welcome Aboard Delta Connection Flight XYZ..."

What I actually said... "Welcome aboard Skywest Flight XYZ, Delta Connection service to...."

Ive had pax on the wrong plane before. Not often, but it does happen.

I also think it sounds more professional.

Lastly, aa I recall, it’s actually in the FM-1 that way.

FM1 never says anything about the pilots having to do a welcome aboard PA. It just says that’s delegated to the flight attendants. So I never do one.

The AA influence there is strong. The only time you don’t think you work for AA is when you see your paystub.

Destination is more important than flight number. Most passengers have no idea what the flight number is, I know I usually don’t know the flight number on flights I commute on regularly. Half the time I can’t even remember the flight number I’m operating. Maybe that’s why there are so many HI6s about wrong flight IDs. 🤣

Yep.

And I have to say that as a commuter sitting in the back, when the PA speakers are too loud, it s VERY annoying to listen to the FA do a welcome aboard (the one required) then have the CA do another one providing more or less the same info. I did them at first but have since decided against it unless we re off schedule or have something going on i think the pax need to know about that s not in the standard FA read welcome.

When Indo though, it s American Eagle Flight xxxx...

I've seen a couple with quite a big following on social media, say AA.

If the paint on the outside doesn't match the paystub, you don't work for that company. It's all fog and mirrors, a dangling carrot. Flows come as fast as they go.

I'm sure you could probably address that with them through their social media.

nah, those are special cases.
We are AAG, believe it or not the one and only paper check I ever got from the company said AA on it, don’t remember what direct deposits say. We are, however, well aware that there is a gap between here and there and, at any rate, how is this applicable to this thread?

Why does the union let them get away with that?

one final chance for people to realize they’re on the wrong flight.....helps when you’re going to Rochester MN instead of Rochester NY, or Springfield IL instead of Missouri or Massachusetts......guess why I cited the above city pairs :-)

Wrong. You are AAG and therefore....American. You have no interview and no medical to get to AA. When the time comes, you have a simple departmental transfer and that's it. No other major carrier in the world offers this. You. Are. American.

It's unfortunate that you feel this way. I personally know several cadets in the pipeline. While they are disappointed that things have temporarily slowed, they are literally over the moon about the opportunity to begin their AA career at Envoy. All of them say that they always only wanted Envoy. I'm not sure why you are disgruntled. Perhaps listening to some of the 10% or the few remaining lifers left who have nothing but negativity to spew.

Let him (and them) keep talking.... he's working his way into a single carrier petition....

Sure it will, and we'll merge the seniority lists via relative seniority. ;-)

What’s the flow at? Indefinite. And. Increasing.

Flow requires AA hiring.

it simply points out the stupidity of his claims.... although, they have taken great strides in blurring the line. Being ordered to wear AA lanyards across all 4 carriers and similar stupidity on their part checking boxes on items looked at in single carrier petitions. They advertise to cadets and college kids that it’s their one and only career interview. Their advertising graphics show it as simply going to the bigger planes when your seniority can hold it. Everything they’ve done since the bankruptcy has hurt their arguments if such a filing ever were initiated.

Frankly, given the high probability of furloughs at AA, this would be a terrible time to make the argument.

MEGAFUPM 05-02-2020 01:58 PM

You guys just really need to stop replying to him lol. It's an obvious troll, just look at his profile picture. Over half of our posts on this board are him saying flow is the best and you're american pilots day 1, and then everyone else saying no we're not. No need to keep it going. Let's try to get things somewhat back on more important topics.
