Maybe it would be easier to actually be in position for an RAP, or call in Sick or emergency before a Short Call RAP began.
And yes mental health is a legitimate reason to call in sick.

No kidding...

First off, no airline is going to go for that because it basically would give all crew personal days at their unlimited discretion.

Secondly I guarantee that if you say that on tape the company will ground you pending an evaluation and AME clearance. That's going to lengthy and expensive, at best.

You don't have to tell them why you called in sick, and you should not.
