Well it is not hard to see based on what AA has done with AE / Envoy. AA wants nothing to do with AE / Envoy. They tried to sell them for a good while, in the early/mid 2010s, but they were too expensive to buy/operate. AA declared bankruptcy and stopped the sale. AA came out of bankruptcy and rebranded AE as Envoy and told them they could operate for others. Yet here we are, in 2021 now, and AA continues to give their flying to other regionals than Envoy - even if their own home base.

Part of why I don't see why Envoy hates pilots from other regionals. I can't count how many times I pass an Envoy pilot in DFW and they won't even look at you because they know you're flying for AA (not as a wholly owned). They act like they deserve much more than you, whilst we merely fly the airplanes. Yet don't understand that AA hates them much more than their fellow pilots that merely fly the brand. They point fingers at pilots that fly the brand and not at the company that gives out their flying to other regionals.

When AA came to us in 2013 with concessions we said no. We stood up. While others bent over and took it. Eagle/envoy pilots are known in the industry for having cojones and standing up to AA.

I figured you were YX, but looking at your post history it looks like you’re on my team (OO). So don’t take this the wrong way but shut TF up. What are you doing? Seriously. Who cares if someone from another airline doesn’t look at you with a smile every time you cross paths. It looks like you’re based out of DFW which is hilarious because we just displaced a bunch of men and women out of DTW and MSP to grow our DFW base because we picked up more AA flying. So what’s your problem exactly?

Guys are not smiling at you/looking at you because they're awkward and want to be left alone, not because they care who you work for. We used to have a lot of guys who had a bone to pick with PSA, but even that beef is pretty much totally squashed now. Having said that, Skywest pilots are seen as freeloaders by some, because while Skywest benefits from increases in the market price of regional flying obtained through collective bargaining by the unions, Skywest pilots contribute nothing to these efforts, and in fact undermine them by providing a source of non-union labor. However, most pilots are blue collar types and don't really think about anything that deeply, and certainly not about airlines other than their own.

Oh, and we also got a huge infusion of Expressjet veterans most of whom are not fans of SKYW.

We’ll unionized if management starts treating us like crap. Our management refuses to furlough or ask for concessions knowing the consequences of a potential movement towards unionizing. One day it could change, but right now not having a union is an advantage for us.

As for ExpressJet, they were doomed before OO bought them out. Then after being basically saved, they attempted to play hard ball and OO management decided to send a message.
