Depends, Envoy is reactive and always overreacts so when they see a lot of people coming in the door the interview gets way harder, then shortly later they have 12 people bail on a class the night before and if you can spell your name and don't nod off before lunch you're hired.

isnt the ATP program based on guys instructing each other to get their hours, ie CFIs? What’s the difference between ATP and CFI candidates? You mean the 4 year university program CFIs? The ATP magazine ads in AOPA show an Envoy 175 and imply they prepare you for a regional and/or have a relationship with envoy. I’m behind on what backgrounds are generally the strongest.

Honestly, I’m miserable here. I am desperate to leave here for something else or just leave the industry all together. The management is about as horrible as they can be. We are treated worse than a number. The union I know they try, I really do, there are some great guys there. But honestly I think it’s to little to late sometimes and we cave at the negotiating table and then the finger pointing on who’s fault it is. I’m sorry to the union guys. I know y’all work hard and sometimes it’s out of your control… but for real come on this place is a joke. Scheduling borders on abuse 99% of the time. Being middle bottom of the reserve list is a miserable place to be. I’m sure I’ll get “it used to be worse” comments or something negative but honestly an airline shouldn’t make me want to quit aviation all together. Honestly, this place is awful. I wish someone would realize their employees are miserable and fix it. But they just don’t care. Honestly I’m sure Mesa would be better, no offense to Mesa guys.

You know it’s bad when they call folks who left for other airlines a while back to try to junior man them. If the company realized that treating people with dignity and respect would go a long way, im sure they would change their ways; however, management has been the same for so long I don't see anything changing for the better in the near future. Envoy’s loss Kirbys gain I guess. |

I went out on medical at Mesa because I needed FAA clearance to resume flying after a bout with skin cancer. Based on what the Doc at AMAS told me I told Mesa about 2 months of leave would be needed. Near the end of that 2 months still no clearance from the FAA. I get an email from another pilot wanting to know if I could pick up a trip a leg early so he could start vacation or something. I'm like WTF? I do not have a valid medical. Checked the scheduling computer program and there I was, automatically scheduled to fly with no medical yet  |

There’s plenty of people here who don’t absolutely hate their lives here and make the best of it. |

That's the point. Nobody should have to be "making the best of it."
I don’t think most here feel like they are making the best of it. I think most know there are issues, many similar to other outfits, but overall not a bad place to work. But to feel that honestly, you gotta have perspective. That does not mean one is brainwashed or has rose glasses, just perspective. Certainly if one is miserable, find something else, but for those who don’t feel miserable, that’s ok too. as long as all have a plan to better their position, or even stay if that Is what is right for them, that’s all that matters. |

Maybe he’s trying to say they have been to places way worse than this. Bottom feeder regionals, ruthless part 135 outfits, military helicopters and/or getting shot at. Driving a truck OTR, or any real work for that matter.
