Training will have to start back up by year's end, right? I would think even with the American stoppage, Envoy would still need to onboard a few more pilots to account for retirements, future attrition, upgrades, etc.

Yeah I heard they are planning to have classes of 20-30 starting in October through at least the rest of the year (they said that is normal for it to pick back up in the fall like that before the holidays). Since October is still a bit away that timeline could move up or back. From what I heard they are just doing Captain upgrades and FO recurrent in August and September. They most likely won't tell us this directly because of how fluid it could be so we don't make any plans to start just for it to change again. The other unconfirmed rumor is that AA isn't going to resume hiring/training until next June so they may lead to smaller classes in the future again. Now its just a waiting game.

I interviewed with AA on Tuesday (got the CJO!) and they told us we were the last group of interviewees for the year. We were told that January would be the start of training for the hires currently in the CJO pool and for us new hires to expect a wait, most likely April.

Very nice!! That's great to hear! Hopefully those AA classes are big too so everyone can start moving up in line.

I'm on Envoy property, and instructors said "large" classes will start towards the end of September.

With American starting classes back up in January and the two other legacies continuing to hire as well, I would think (hope) that Envoy would want to start training new hires around that Sep time-frame in anticipation current pilots potentially leaving.

Yes, we will see I suppose.
