It's worked out very well. My point is that sometimes the grass IS greener on the other side. As terrible as it sounds, a lateral move could be the best thing that could happen to you. Since I've been here every single captain I've flown with has either done the exact same thing I did when his/her airline was in serious jeopardy or had been furloughed and ended up at Compass. There are tons of success stories here. Don't rule out the later move just yet.

Going to another regional is still a regional I don't care where you're bidding. I have no desire to ever be a regional CA and it's clearly not necessary to have 121 PIC time to get hired anywhere else anymore. My point is I will not be making a career as a regional airline pilot, captain or otherwise. I'll spend my last few years at Eagle and it's major or bust.

To each their own. Fact still remains that the higher your seniority the better quality of life. Also, making $75,000 is better than making $35,000 (and that's good for an FO) unless you have a sugar-momma. I want to be a captain for pay and to be just a little more competitive over that FO who doesn't aspire to upgrade. Like, I said, to each their own.

I'd bet that if you ask any major airline reciter if they think PIC time typically makes a candidate more competitive they would say yes. I didn't say it's required or that FOs with zero turbine PIC time aren't getting major jobs. If it helps me get a major job over someone else then I'm going to do it. Not everyone wants to be captain, I get it.

Too bad. I think you should've taken it.
In this case, I think the lateral move would benefit you, in terms of moving on to a Legacy.

"We reminded ALPA, once again, that re-engaging in negotiations at this time would further delay the completion of discussions that American is having with the other carriers and could put American’s expected E175 launch date into jeopardy." from envoy president
Why would envoy alpa mec care if they re-engaged in negotiations with aag that this would delay aag completing its discussions with other carriers, I for one could care less if they were delayed in completing negotiations. AAG wants it both ways, well summer is here and they cant cover one pilot groups actions with another. It will be a fun time this summer, hope aag has a good sense of humor, it was aag's doing.
since aag wants to shut this place down, they should not complain when we help it along to this final conclusion as aag wants it to be. APA is fighting aag as we speak, they are just keeping it quiet at aag, they don't want everyone to know they are as bad if not worse than the amr management group they replaced.
