I'm torn. A part of me wants them to address the company as such: "Until you are ready to offer us something reasonable and mutually beneficial in accordance with the impending staffing disaster that you have created, we are unwilling to negotiate with you. Furthermore, we are unwilling to negotiate with Glass, period," stand up from the bargaining table and leave. Only communications relating to the massive contract violations continue.

The other part if me wants them to negotiate with the company in order to see if, beyond this insulting opener, they can come to a decent agreement despite the frustration of feeling like I'm in the dark.

I more feel the former than the latter.

I know I've said this before, but there isn't going to be any "good" news. I really don't think the no voters understood/believed the possible consequences of their actions. "Standing up for the industry" is the direction we chose, Envoy will shrink and the planes will go elsewhere, exactly as management said. 20 aircraft going to Compass buys the company til 2016 before they have to worry about any future deliveries, they're not going to come to us, admit the error of our ways and give us anything.

What is done is done, we now live with the decisions we made. Quit getting your hopes up and/or freaking out when bad news is released. I hope we all find employment at a national, major, corporate, out of the industry, etc. before this thing comes crashing down. Good luck.

It certainly doesn't help that our union doesn't think we are smart enough to receive any information.

As of 8 years ago, the MEC has to have all communications run through ALPA lawyers. They will know more than you that they cant communicate even if they wanted. It's part of the job that you simply can't disclose everything.

Want to know more? Run for office or take a position in the MEC.

It certainly doesn't help that our union doesn't think we are smart enough to receive any information. The only thing that has been suggested at this point is that Glass made an initial offer which was low ball...SOP for Glass but apparently it made a certain NY LEC member angry enough to organize a picket.

Other than that none of us know anything and that includes PilotCrusader. These "talks" will drag out for another couple of weeks at minimum until something is worked out.

I know plenty more than you young man. Having been here longer than you have likely been alive, I have a few more irons in the fire.
I admire your positive outlook, but I promise it is unfounded. The meeting was centered around whether to even speak more with the company or not. You will soon hear the answer.

I know you want something to vote yes to, anything, but this was not an offer to vote on.

Well you just know it all, don't you?

We should just send you in to negotiate. But you are pretty sensitive for an old man. Must have run out of Viagra.

I guess you get put on the ignore list pretty quick kiddo. Keep living in your bubble. My world won't be affected either way. You are the one who will never see Captain here.

At least you finally admit you have nothing to lose either way. Enjoy your six figure salary and up coming requirement with life long travel.

Those of us here for the long haul will take it from here, Gramps. Thanks for ruining the Regional industry with sub-par contracts up to this point.

Nor will his optimism ruin your retirement. If someone wants to think this place could have a bright future, let them. How does it make you feel when you say stuff like "You are the one who will never see Captain here."? Do you feel like you are doing a service? Maybe you need an ego stroke? Is it a "I made it but you wont?"

I think embraer and I are around the same seniority (2011 hire?) and while I often say I'll never upgrade at Eagle, I know I will. I know this phrase gets over used but, "You must be a real joy to fly with."
