I don't think they can dissolve Envoy in 3 years. My guess is 5, at current attrition rates our entire pilot group will be gone in a little over 4 years.
That only assumes attrition is linear and at the current rate and it doesn't assume the number of folks who are in management or out on LOA. In truth, when Comair shut down the rate increased dramatically over time. Anyone who thinks this place "can't" be gone in three years needs to visit CO...

A friend of mine died three weeks ago. He was older than me...! He had a 14 year old daughter and 12 year old son and a wife of 20 years. He went jogging with his daughter and dropped dead of a heart attack in front of her. Wasn't over-weight, no previous illness, ... paramedics worked on him for 50 minutes. Life is precious and I expect if he had the opportunity to look back...he might not have done some things in his life and he probably would have treasured some events that at the time he thought were inconsequential --
Seeing his young son at the funeral. Hearing he was going to Oshkosh with his Grampa and not his dad.... It stops you in your tracks...gives you new perspective. Even my worst day is better than ... So -
There are so many people posting here simply complaining. If it is so bad here and opportunities are so great elsewhere....LEAVE. LEAVE NOW!!! Why are you waiting. If you're young, you have your whole career ahead of you. Maybe you've only been here a few years. JUST move...go to where you will be happy ... LIFE IS TOO SHORT TO LIVE IN AGONY! If you're more senior and think you "can't move", find something else to do with your life that gives you happiness!! I'm serious...make decisions that make you happy...whatever that is for you. Don't waste your life being unhappy!!!
Now, if all you are doing is sitting in your chair, ****ed off and wanting to whine and complain...remember this. YOU CHOOSE TO BE HERE. Contrary to popular demand, you are not a slave to ENVOY. You have the right to leave.
Which are you? Do you have the guts to leave? To take responsibility for your life? To embrace change? Or can you change your attitude and contribute something positive? Because the endless complaining really doesn't accomplish much...and second guessing decisions made also is water under the bridge!
Just saying .... because life is TOO short to be in the place where so many have placed themselves! Go find happiness --- whatever that is for you!

True JP. That's why my wife and I are engaged in a "retirement mentality" now. In other words at 44 and 45 we're travelling and doing things we always wanted to do in lieu of getting rolled around Rome in a wheel chair 25 yrs from now. I might write a book..."How stupid financial decisions led to happiness." I'm not going to have anywhere near what I need for a comfortable retirement (according to the pundits) so I figure when I have dementia I'll just work until I drop dead - and hopefully will not be lucid enough to care. Customer service is so bad these days I could probably get a job as a greeter somewhere. In the meantime, $80 bottle of Cakebread anyone?

I know a surefire way to get new hires to leave Envoy faster... keep using Sabre. Especially with training that consists of, "buy the book at crew outfitters." The nine point font book that is.

There is actually no way the upgrade could come down significantly as a result of these negotiations. They're offering us aircraft in 2016 as the 2015 aircraft are allocated to Compass. We will continue to lose airframes until at least that point.
