ORD 175 base cancelled. Vacancy to be rebid.

More accurately, those E175s are going to DFW instead. Too bad the folks over at Mesa don't see the writing on the wall with this announcement.

Soooo..... What about Republic? I thought they are bringing down ORD and building MIA?

Yea, this will really help attract new hires. I wonder how much more they have agreed to pay Republic. They just continue to feel the need to punish Envoy.

Normally I don't say anything until it's a few notches above speculation...but here goes. One of two things will happen with Republic and their ORD flying.

A. Unpark their older E170s and use them in that market..or

B. Shift E175s from either JFK or MIA.

The E170s are dead in the water and Republic can't get rid of them fast enough. There may have even been a clause in their bankruptcy settlement about parking them.

So option B is the most likely. Now, JFK or MIA? Republic is already becoming scarce in MIA with Envoy taking over much of the flying as it is. They have already shifted most of their aircraft out of there even before this announcement.

So...what do you think?

Why is this bad?

Everything is bad in his world. Don't feed him, please.

Well that sucks. As a new hire I was looking forward to the possibility of ORD when I go to class in a few months. Oh well. I will go where I am needed.

ORD is still very much available, with a 20k bonus to boot. A person would just be flying the 700 or 145 instead, is all.

ORD is my preference, and time is time. I want QOL vs engines under the wings.
