Let me just say to all those considering Envoy. Don't. Yes, i need you below me but seriously, do not believe the pack of lies you hear about on this board stating 2.5 year upgrade and 6 year flow.
I am a 2013 hire and on reserve. Let me tell you it is a living hell. If I had chosen PSA instead, I would have been in the left seat for a long time now. The only people flowing here are 1999 hires. The most junior captain on property today is a 2007 hire. Do yourself a favor and ignore these paid company interns on here that talk about what a magnificent utopia Envoy is. Seriously, do you think a regular line pilot would gush with adoration over the company and state that they would step in front of a bullet for Envoy management? |
From the mill this week sounds like MGMT is planning on numbers similar to these in 2016:
200 upgrades 300 flows 400 New Hires. |
How many FOs on total list

I'd say this is spot on! I was a 2006 hire! Stay far far away from promises of flow!

New Envoy Information
Word is that the vast majority of hires are coming from the pipeline programs, so interviews are not necessarily an indicator of how many are getting on. I've never heard how many have signed on to the pipeline program. Again, we don't need 1:1 replacement. We're fat on pilots and they want to lose a bunch of us. We're fat on captains, we don't need 1:1 upgrades to flows, and ENY enjoys running captains into the ground during normal ops with extensions and JM's so we can expect the minimum number of upgrades to get by.
These guys aren't going to start upgrading any significant numbers until they absolutely have to, and in envoy parlance that means they'll be cancelling flights due to lack of captains before they upgrade. If it isn't obvious by now, it should be plain that this company hates paying for our "too senior" seniority list, especially the captains. |

That's not accurate.
It's for before or after your trip Anytime you misconnect and get stuck in base Before or after blocks of reserve days Before or after Critical Coverage Open Time And up to 4 commuter hotels per month The end result is unless you are doing airport standby you typically do not need a Crashpad. Even if you did have to buy a few hotels a month yourself it's still cheaper than a Crashpad. Add $2,500 to your salary in savings and much less stress Given this, if a new hire was commuting, how many hotels do you think would need to be purchased each month? |
As a new hire you're going to be on reserve. Likely pulling airport standby. Get a crashpad. As you move up the list you will get a mixed bag of trips and you may be able to maneuver into more commutable trips. By then you'll be able to gauge whether you can use hotels or stay with a crashpad. All of this is also dependent on where you commute from and the frequency of flights that will get you to and from work.
