And I keep hearing from Envoy folks that Mesa is leaving DFW in 2017 and that all the flying is coming back to Envoy. But in reality Mesa is picking up more and more destinations that were historically Envoys (FSM, GRK, LFT etc.) Not sure what it is about Envoy and their rumors but they sure like to dream and unfortunately at the expense of others.

And yes Envoy is getting new planes but it's not true growth. For every 175 that comes onto property isn't it replacing a ratio of 145s?

Because the "compass airplanes" flying for AA are owned by AA. The RAH planes are co-signed by AA. Two different things.

Envoy are getting 2 145 back from Xjet, also bringing 3 back from long term storage. Next year the remaining 13 planes that Xjet has and the 15 that are in TSA will come back slowly. So, not losing many planes anymore. Even the CRJ700 will stay longer than 2016.

Whether it's from scoffing at good things happening to other pilot groups (retention bonuses, signing bonuses, contract improvements etc.) or due to their good fortune at being hired at a company right during an upswing.
Nobody *I know* at my company is salivating at the prospect of taking another pilot groups source of work. Are they excited about future prospects at their own company? Sure. But even that is just speculation at best at this point. Most I would say have seen it enough to understand what that means for another carrier and so keep their mouths shut. It's an unfortunate truth of our business at this level, and sadly, bickering amongst each other just seems to further the problems.
As for the region not mattering I'll have to disagree with you there. Certain regions see far more daily delays and other issues than others all which contribute to just how happy the people on back are. Carriers who operate more frequently in those areas are obviously going to have to contend with that in addition to the other daily struggles all carriers deal in. Nature of the beast.

There are ample delays in LAX and SFO where 3/4 of our flying currently is, or in LGA when we were busy up there for a year, yet customer satisfaction has stayed high throughout. It has more to do with employees (both pilots and FAs) that have less time in the industry and are therefore less burnt out and more engaged and positive as a group.

It's like they're trying to launch some propaganda campaign to lure new hires in the door, but no one is buying their BS. Their upgrade did plummet to March 2008 though for all interested prospects.

So apparently the FAs got an email through their union about MESA leaving DFW. That's the only "evidence" I have ever heard about. Calling it evidence is a big stretch.

Quite sure that was done in jest, but nice try.

Nobody who was at Compass before summer of 2014 wanted those stupid things. People were jealous of Compass at one point because they weren't beating up the pilots and there was a good culture there. Everyone came from somewhere else and "been there done that" so the normal regional BS was non existent. Majority of the guys I met from other airlines over the years ALWAYS said "I got called from Compass but never went, looking back I wish I would have". Compass pilots aren't better than anyone else, but I bet they are much happier and people are jealous of that. Unfortunately Job satisfaction sometimes doesn't prevent a pilot group from getting the hammer dropped on them, time will tell.

I would think the 175s would come from republic if anything. Been on 2 republic flights this week that were delayed for lack of crew and I've been seeing a lot of trips pop up that were once republic trips (I'm actually flying one now). Seems they still haven't fixed their problems with staffing...

I apologize if I came off as arrogant. That was not my intention. Hearing other pilots publicly drooling over Compass planes is getting really tiresome. If these pilots could point to a single business case that could make that plausible I would understand. The point of my post was to illustrate that there is no business case.
