Got an interview coming up, will LGA coming back online open up some room in DFW?

Good news for Envoy, happy for you guys- even if it is another nail in the AWAC coffin. You didn't stab anyone in the back to get it and that's important.

Doubtful. Most NYC guys commute to ORD. There will be movement here, so all bases will be available without too much waiting.

DFW always has been and always will be the senior base at Envoy. That doesn't mean you won't get it right away (I held it 6 weeks out of training during the stagnant years). But reserve will be longer and it'll take longer to hold CA there.

That being said, I wouldn't delay a class just to hold DFW. In the grand scheme of your career, the extra seniority will probably mean a lot more than the temporary QOL hit of commuting for a short time.

Being a relatively junior line holder I have wondered this myself. In part I think this helps others at the company in ORD better than it does myself. However, I can't think of any reason this is a negative for me. For new hires it might be the difference between starting off in LGA vs ORD. Since the huge influx of applicants and full new hire classes I can't see anyone staying there longer than a month or two. In the old days we had vacancy bids pretty much ever month and I hope to see that happen again shortly.

Good luck with the interview. Find the gouge. Dry clean your clothes. Polish your shoes. Be prepared.
