Personally I'm interested in changing things for the better. However, envoy is absolutely making jaded. We're at an all-time low in employee/management relations over here and it's hard to believe that things will substantially improve over at AA. The common factor is the Parker takeover of AA. I believe that they like to say they're making positive changes when it comes to press releases, town hall meetings, etc. but have no intent on actually making those positive changes. I think that people need to start publicially speaking up about how AA treats its employees (including it's wholly owned subsideraries) because if they don't the current AA management will do nothing but walk all over them.

I'm at PDT, and I am pretty optimistic about the future. Steve Farrow has been cast out and replaced by an ex-US Airways management guy, Lyle Hogg, as well as a handful of other management positions. That to me, shows that they have a genuine interest in seeing Piedmont succeed by appointing the right people to the right positions to help us grow away from the "old piedmont" way of doing things.
More importantly are the recent pay raises we have seen at the WO level after Kirby's departure. I think they realize the iron fist they were trying to rule with is unsustainable long term opposed to a positive cradle to grave approach. Slowly but surely, our problems are finding solutions. Time will tell and I could certainly be wrong, but these changes have painted a much different picture to what was once a bleak and unbelievable light at the end of the tunnel (flow).
What I would like to see, and what I believe would really demonstrate how caring AA is, is a future for our ALPA brothers and sisters at AWAC. What's happening there is heartbreaking and they deserve better after continued years of service. Give them more money to recruit pilots, extend their CPA, a larger aircraft that'll remain around for a longer time, buy them and make them a WO, do SOMETHING FFS.

There's a lot of griping over on the other side of the fence. They are getting beat up on reserve, getting turned back, getting paid incorrectly, etc. all the same stuff we're dealing with here at ENY. The Parker Effect is happening there, too.

When you say things like employee/management relations are so bad it's making you jaded, it's usually the fault of the person in the mirror. I would suggest you consider adjusting your attitude to be more positive. After all, you'll be flowing to AA in under 6 years if you are a new hire today.
All the stuff listed above is happening as well as wrongful terminations as an intimidation tactic. But yea, it's definitely the pilot's fault.

Abusing sick time / medical leave is grounds for termination. Some DFW union honcho got canned because of this.

LOL, Delta is not likely to hire someone who cannot construct coherent sentences. Maybe you have a shot, if you have your Gram Gram call them and tell them what a special little man you are.
