Default Question for the Pinnacle guys and gals

I have a question about something since negotiations again lead to nothing. What are the legalities in a vote of no confidence on PT. I know it doesn't mean much, but it would at least send a strong message to the investors that the company's largest employee group no longer has faith in its management to lead the company in the right direction. Anyone have any input on this....

Investors don't care what pilots or employees think...the fact is PT has squeezed record performance numbers out of a pilot group that's operating on 2004 wages...investors would laugh at a vote like that...and you're assuming the pilot group would all vote "no confidence."

We already vote "keep Phil" with our perf. numbers...which is one of many reasons why the company has zero incentive to sign anything. I for one am sick and tired of watching captain after captain use their cell phone to keep the ball rolling with dispatch/mx, doing the company favors taking out planes with ambiguously worded (and sometimes obvious) mel's that they could easily reject/refuse/delay, and in general being way more concerned with the length of their overnight and not having to fuss around with ops/send delay reports than they are with a contract. I'd say at least 90% of the CAs I fly with whine and complain about how messed up the company/dispatch/lack of a contract is, but the same 90% use their cellphones and religiously take out airplanes they could refuse...

It's put up or shut up...and no one puts up here, so it's left to the union/NMB to actually do something about it...at least no one can say we're doing anything in bad faith, since there is almost nil work slowdown mentality anywhere I've seen...

At companies like Pinnacle, United and Mesa - are the board members even alive? It's amazing what happens with the respective company and the board just keeps giving the thumbs up.

I suppose in today's enviroment, airline CEO's only lose their job if they physically close the doors with bankruptcy. Anything above that is fully approved by the board.

Unbelieveable.

I am a CA at 9E and you have hit the nail spot on dude. I had to stop and think about it when I got a sprint bill and I was over my minutes and a majority of those phone call were to SOC (dispatch and MX desk). I paid overage charges for being a company man to a company that screws me over and over again with JA, extensions and is not willing to give us a contract. I appreciate the stance the Union has taken in not giving in to the company's demands and if we (pilot group) stood together and just said "no" to some of the flights and equipment we fly arround all day in things could possibly change for the better. I am tired of being used to meet company goals , then only to get racked over the coals.

You are a lot more proactive than I am. If its not between the hours of 7pm and 7am, I refuse to use my cell phone. The company is NOT minute-worthy. Numbers are not in....wait 10 min, then 1 single call to ops. No rampers to park or push..wait 10 min, then single call to ops. If i need to get a hold of dispatch or MX, that is what acars is for. Even then, its 1 msg and 1 msg only. If they take 20min to get back to me, too friggin bad. I do my job and mine alone. I am not going to do anything "above and beyond". I will do my job to the best of my ability and thats it. If the company wants more out of me, they can cancel the g-damn displacement and give us a contract.

AMEN!!! I now done with being a company man. Delta Pilots have just signed and LOA to release the scope on 76 seater from 120 to 153 PT might kiss RA at Delta for additional airframes. Maybe that might throw off the displacement?

only 1 correction to your post. We are really at 1999 wages since that is when the contract was signed

Take your Sprint bill to the CPs and ask for reimbursement. If (when) they laugh, explain that you will not be using your cellphone for company business ever again. Show them the bill again so they can see how many delays you avoided or reduced because you used your phone - then whatever the outcome, you win.

(Then stop using your cellphone anyway)

And don't forget to save a copy for your accountant for a tax write off as well.......You want to get management back to negotiating stop making PT look so damn good to the shareholders and stop blaming some of your woes on other groups within the 9-E umbrella...Its going to be painful but it will stop the BS quickly....

Their reaction would be about the same as it was after the 99% strike vote.
