Default Envoy Aircraft Selection / Reserve Schedule

I'm new to airline stuff, just a helicopter pilot switching over in the coming months.

1. Aside from "what's available" when interviewing...how is aircraft assignment determined?

2. For a guy like me, what are some differences that will be noticeable between E145/E175/CRJ. ✈️

3. What time does a reserve assignment start?

4. Are there cup holders?

Welcome to Envoy! You absolutely will not regret your decision. You'll be a captain in 2.5 years or less and flow to AA in 5.5 to 6 years. To help answer your questions...

1. Aircraft assignment will happen on the first day of indoc where everyone will bid on what is available. Awards are in seniority order with the oldest in the class being the most senior and working down from there.

2. Not sure if you have jet time but our training program is the best in the industry. You won't find better training anywhere else. The CRJ and 145 don't have a lot of the automated features that the 175 does, like say autothrottles. However, you won't find any of the jets that much different in the end.

3. Reserve assignments are bid for each month. You'll get a reserve line with hard days off and then on each day of reserve, you'll be assigned a different RAP, or Reserve Availability Period. You can proffer for flying that is available as well.

4. Cupholders are in all aircraft. They all vary as to how they hold different cups, cans, etc.

Thanks. Not AT Envoy just yet.

Hoping for a June class date. July at latest.

Envoy is THE PLAN.

What is this term "proffer" is exactly? I get that it's picking up flights, but is that something that you'd be doing while on reserve or in between RAPs?

Bear in mind that while it shows he is loyal to Envoy, lines one and two of paragraph 2. are used by nearly every regional out there. Not a reason to go anywhere, as they will ALL train you to the standard they expect.

Proffering at envoy: between 10am and 2pm the day before a reserve day, you can check the open time for the next day and put in your "proffer," or the list of which assignments (flight sequences of varying lengths, airport standby assignments- 8 hour shifts, or your preference of RAP- 2 hour call out) you'd like. Usually the trips are assigned in seniority order by 5pm to whoever proffered. Scheduling also typically hands out a "default" RAP beginning at 4am for all reserve pilots on their first day. If your seniority couldn't hold what you proffered for, you default to RAP 1. You will have the ability to see all open time as well as a list of reserves to see where you stand each day. Some limited scheming is available.

The last wrinkle in this is Scheduling's treatment of our contract. You are expected to follow every rule, but they are not. Best of luck.

Dacuj and cr700 are recruitment, take what they say with a grain of salt. They sell t a product that could happen, unfortunately our management likes to talk about what could happen if they knew how to do anything. 6 year flow may happen, but those 6 yrs will be hell. These tools even say suffer here for 6 yrs, and you will be rewarded with flow. Those 6yrs will make you not want to flow. Pedro and Ric will drive you into the ground.

Should happen every month, don't think it needs an announcement anymore

What are some rough estimates for a timeline on a new-hire getting a base at DFW?

Asking for a friend. :/
