To say which equipment you fly doesn't matter is a bit misleading. Hands down a plane is a plane and it doesn't make any difference which one you fly in theory.
However beyond that there are advantages to choosing one over the other. If I was on the 175 I would be bidding top 15% but I'm on the 145 so I bid about 60%. That's weekends off vs junior line holder. 175 has longer legs and less per trip vs the 5-4-4-5 on the 145. If a new hire lived in xna or lit then they would prefer the 175 because the over night.
There are numerous reasons the 175 is a better choice vs the 145. Also the same is true for the 145.
