Have you ever been at the bottom of the list on a fleet that is scheduled to shrink and eventually disappear? It's not a particularly enjoyable experience.

If it's all about ORD.... why would someone not pick CRJ which is only in ORD. When they go away they can displace wherever like say ORD.

Because the aircraft is going away and will have zero movement. Why waste time getting that type when you can just get the 145 and start working on your seniority.

I fully understand what you are saying but it might just be a back door way into getting the 175. Suffer on the CRJ then bam over to the 175 after you get displaced. Sure it might not work and it might be a dumb choice for most people but if you really wanted the 175 and you are young then that's the best way.
This! +1 .... If you live in ORD Rsv is not all that bad. Commuting to Rsv like many are doing sucks. The local senior FO's & CA's, and even junior FO's have been bidding rsv although they can hold a line. They get plenty of time at home vs those holding a line. Plenty of OT to be had for more $$$$ and flying if so desired. Thus why I say CRJ ORD is seriously something to consider if your a young or middle aged fox who lives in ORD. CRJ ORD has more line flying than E145 ORD lines. Also if you would like multiple type ratings on your cert to stand out, does not hurt having multiple type ratings if applying to DA, UA, SW, Alaska, Hawaiian, while also awaiting for the flow, its a pretty good position to be in. As stated above, if u get displaced 12, 18, or 24 months later you'll have a more favorable seniority depending on your displacement base/aircraft bid preference. |

Go to the E175 if you can folks.

Silly question: Are the E145's ever going away completely ? Aka all 175 or greater fleet ?
