But you were correct, the CPP is working for them;

1) As a recruiting tool

2) Helps to stop already under staffed/poorly managed regional pilots form calling sick. Especially during the summer months, on their crappy 11/12 day off schedules non commutable 75 hr/300+ TAFB schedules. Month, after month, after month....

If it was cheaper, Smisek would have done it. Instead he just complained that regional feed “sourcing costs” have increased.

Itsajob, true on United not having a shortage of applicants.

But, retirements + mainline growth will require more than just the current applicant pool.
