I don’t foresee 50 seat jets going away anytime soon. If air wisconsin keeps performing they way they are, I can see this as the first step as expressjet taking over their flying 100%.

I’m not gitty about it at all. I know a lot of people there still, Did I show any sort of excitement over this? I’m saying this is a 3rd party as well, i won’t work for either airline, but the fact of the matter is, their performance sucks big time and this is probably United’s responce to that. I know a year into a contract no one wants to hear that. American did it as well towards the end, they severely cut back flying and handed it over to piedmont, PSA and Tran states when staffing levels were tanking during the 2016 mass exodus. I’m just stating my opinion on the matter without bias to anyone what kind of business decision I thought this was. It’s just business. Sorry if I offended you.

For those at awac, it stinks but it can also be a sigh of relief when schedules might more accurate reflect staffing levels. Less junior man’s, reroutes and extensions since xjt can more permanently take some of the burden of flying that’s struggled to be covered.

Personally I’d expect an Air Whisky-XJT merger.

I’m not sure what people expect, so since some seem to be new to the FFD world I’ll explain it.
Legacy carriers control the contracts and who gets how much flying. With scope, there is only a limited pie. If one person wins, that means someone else loses. How in the heck do you think LASA went all the way down to about 400 active pilots???? When I was hired... a few years ago... I was number 1500 (or there abouts). The flying did not go away, it was transferred to another airline.
That is the reality of the dog eat dog world we live in. I would have preferred the flying come from a place like GoJet, but while I’m sorry Air Whiskey lost flying I’m not at all sorry we gained some.
