I highly doubt that it would hold up to any sort of legal standard, but the paperwork that successful candidates receive states what is supposed to happen if the CPP is cancelled. Supposedly, those who are in the pool will still go. Again.....who knows if that would hold up, but it does say that.

Default Upgrade Times?

Thank you for the info.

What about upgrade times at ASQ? C5 (and almost everyone else) is upgrading as soon as you qualify. I'm hearing chatter that it's much slower at ASQ, but need to know if it's just chatter or if there's truth present.

Long upgrade. 7ish years right now. Could change tomorrow. Don’t go somewhere for the fast upgrade, though. Pick a place you could be stuck for a while. Everyone thinks they’re going to “get in and get out”, but it doesn’t always work that way. Times change. Economy changes. I wouldn’t be surprised if age 67 rules happen soon.

In short, pick some place with a good contract and work rules, just in case you get stuck somewhere for a while.

Most junior CA at XJT is a 9/2011 hire. Go somewhere with growth and a solid future. And most importantly somewhere you can drive to work if possible.

It was very very long, as in six years plus, but with all the moving pieces lately, nobody can even tell you a number. Upgrade at XJT is indefinite.

Could be more than six, could be less.

I just don’t understand a 7 year upgrade especially in this hiring boom. There should be 50 CA a month going to majors, cargo or LCCs. Are there just that many lifers hanging around? I’m also hearing XJT FOs are getting picked up with no PIC to majors and LCC so maybe it’s not as bleak as it sounds.

Leaves the door open for hope but sucks to have little pay increase as a 4-5 year FO when others are upgrading off the line.

50 captains leaving with Growth = quick upgrade (like most regionals) 50 captains leaving and aircraft leaving = long upgrades. (Like XJT).

This hiring landscape is different. Long time captains are not being hired, but FOs are. It’s leaving us very top heavy.
